Thank you for this post.. I am confused too about paying the document verification fee or not. Although some pay it. What is it for?

It is payment for courier services for the actual/manual verification of your civil records (birth/marriage certificates) by the National Statistics Office.

As mentioned earlier, it is no longer required. And be thankful, my visa was only released after two months and ten days due to that "notorius" DV.

^^You were interviewed just recently and fortunately as JR and others said from earlier posts, DV is no longer required... so your visa is on its way to your fiancee'... Since your interview went on Dec 2, count 4 days and visa will come (actually depends on where your fiancee' lives)...

Ok. What to do next? CFO Seminar? Should I get an appointment for it?

^^Yes, as soon as you receive the visa, go to CFO for the seminar/counseling and sticker... NO need to call for appointment... It's a first come first serve basis :)

Btw, it starts at 10am..

I suggest that you attend the seminar at St. Mary's as there are less people too. Also, there is a CFO extension office there so no need to go to the main office in Manila. It's a one-stop shop. See the link for more info.
