AOS FILERS: DECEMBER 2008

We have our interview tomorrow at the Seattle consulate. Nervous as usual and I pray everything goes well. We have a ton of paperwork and evidence to take with us, but unfortunately we didn't file a joint tax return for the 2008 tax year. I filed in Canada, since that saved us a couple of thousand extra in taxes owed (self-employed, bleh) than if I were to file in the USA, since I still have unused tuition credits to use to minimize taxable income there. Money is tight and my business isn't doing as well as it was last year so we decided that was the best decision. My name is on the tax return, Sarah filed so maybe that will help. We have have 2 joint accounts so maybe that will go towards the co-mingled asset requirements. I will post a review of some sort when we get back. Today I got an email that they sent me RFE....

They waited for 84 days after my first RFE to send me another!!!!!!!!!!!

They are killing me!

In 3 days we are moving out and moving in a new apartment.

I'm worried if i would not get this RFE in printed form.

Just a short note to tell all we got our AOS interview letter in the mail yesterday, its dated may 20th 2009, and thee interview is set for July 13th!!!!! finally I feel like things are happening! Good luck to all upcoming interviews! and also to those still waiting on interview notices/transferred cases!

They waited for 84 days after my first RFE to send me another!!!!!!!!!!!

In 3 days we are moving out and moving in a new apartment.

I'm worried if i would not get this RFE in printed form.

Oh no! Sorry to hear that Diazy. Did you submit an address change to USCIS yet? And will you have your mail forwarded by USPS, just in case? If so, you should receive it....

The interviewer went through the I-485 to make sure the info was correct and then just asked for a few items like joint bank accounts and utility bills. He also mentioned that they were having a delay with the card production and told us we may have to wait up to 6 months. He did however stamp my passport.

Oh no! Sorry to hear that Diazy. Did you submit an address change to USCIS yet? And will you have your mail forwarded by USPS, just in case? If so, you should receive it....

I have not submitted change of address yet. I'm waiting for the day when we'll sign a lease agreement.

After that I will forward all the mail by USPS and I think I will come several times to our old apartment to check the e-mail.

Does anybody know how well USPS forwarding one's mail?

I got my I-551 stamp yesterday & went straight to the SSN & DMV offices in Colorado Springs. As expected, both offices can't find my name in the system still...so another week of waiting before I can change my name & take a driver's permit exam.

Today, I received my welcome letter. God bless & good luck everyone.

And I received my RFE. It is regarding Affidavit. I used both sponsor and household member. So I need to send them a copy of household member's green card.

We are moving out on Monday. So RFE came just on time=)

Hi December filers,

Interview went easy and my wife received the Card Production Ordered welcome letter on May 29, 2009.

Our 2 year anniversary was 5 days after the innterview. The interviewer held back submitting the approval so my wife would get the 10 year, not two.

I sent my response to RFE yesterday. Today they received it. Hope to get update on my case as soon as possible!
