I'm a mailed in November/NOA in December (they received our packet yesterday, so no NOAs yet) person...so I get to crossover and be part of both! :D The CS should have given you a sealed packet with the I-693 inside of it to include in your packet. The vaccination section that they need is on that form, so you should be good with just that. :) The vaccination page is for your records in case you ever need to reference it in the future.

hello,

Hope u don't mind asking you some questions but before that wana tell u first how my papers go. So last january 27, 2009 we filed I-485 & I-765 or my change of status at chicago, my biometrics was done last feb 27th,09... after a month a recieve an RFE requiring us to submit my husbands recent 2008 1040s and w2s, employment letter indicating dates of employment, wages and salary, numbers of hours worked nature of the job since we only submit w2s 06,07 and an estimated numbers of 08 income tax return. My problem is my husbands job has a new policy of not giving out information of income anymore, so i decided to submit the 2007 employment letter it has everything there the same address, dates of employment , nature of the job,and hours he worked, except for the year they wrote that letter and the per hour of salary since he just had an increase. I also include my husbands recognition letter indicating of a job well done. Am confused i think thats way enough but let me know what u think

So i submit 1040,w2s 08, pay stubs, recognition letter dated feb 09, and a 2007 employment letter do u think this is enough????

thank u

We finished our AOS interview this morning at New York City office (lower Manhattan). It was painless at all. Our appointment for the interview was 9:45am. But we arrived at the entrance of the USCIS's building a little before 9:00am and got out of the building around 9:30am. Interview was held at IO's desk, i.e., a cubicle divided by partitions, and the interview lasted around 10-15 minutes.

After we sworn in and showed our passports, we were asked following questions:

1. (Me) My full name

2. (Me) My current address

3. (Me) No terrorist activity, no prior crime, etc.

4. (Both) Whether this is a first marriage.

5. Whether we have original marriage certificate with us today.

6. Whether we have kids.

7. Whether we both are currently employed. Whether we have a copy of employment letter with us today.

8. Whether we have joint insurance.

9. Whether we have joint account (saving, checking, etc.).

10. Whether we own a house or leased. Whether we have copy of lease agreement with us today.

11. Whether we have pictures with us today.

So, basically, we showed original of requested documents or gave IO the newer copy of relevant documents. And that's about it. We were not asked any personal questions (such as how we met) -- We have been married over 4 years and probably there is no doubt that our marriage is nothing but genuine (I hope).

But we were not approved on site. At the end, IO gave us a paper where she checked off the box saying "please allow 60 days for the decision..." but orally told us that we will hear their decision in 30 days by mail. Hope that means GC be coming within 30 days.

Well for anyone who is wondering about using AP, it's so easy. You go into secondary processing, they stamped 1 copy and gave me back both copies. I think they're supposed to keep 1 copy but he didn't. Then they take your I-94 out of the passport, give you a new one. Very straightforward and simple, then the guard explained to me to continue using the AP with the stamp every time I go back to Canada. But, now with my GC approval I don't need AP anymore.

I can't believe I was approved for AOS so fast, I thought CSC was slow.

Hi All: I am new to the group posting board, but have been regularly following up the posts for the last couple of weeks.Reading all your post regularly was very helpful and thank you all for being such a informative and active group. I recently had my GC interview in Chicago (April 7th) and the interview went fine (i think). The officer was nice and courteous and asked all the similar background check questions (affliation to communism, terrorism etc). She checked my spouse (US citizen) and my drivers licenses, confirmed our latest mailing address and went on to confirm additional information from the form I-485 . She also confirmed my contact number (cell) and wrote it down on the form. She made us both sign a document (don't remember what that document was).

The officer than asked if we had any documents/photos to prove the legality of the marriage. We shared pics of our engagement and marriage ceremony (married over two years) and some random pics of our honeymoon and vacation travels. She asked if she could keep the pictures and we said that she could keep them all (about 20 pictures). We also provided additional documents (mortgage copy showing joint ownership of the house, copy of house insurance showing both our names, car insurance policy copy, bank statements (last 3 months) showing joint accounts). She said that all these documents along with pics should be good enough. We asked if she wanted a copy of our 2008 year tax returns which we filled jointly (had jointly filled and submitted 2007 year tax doc along with application as well) but the officer said that she does not need them.

At this point, the officer asked for my passport and took the I-94 card and said that she believes our marriage to be legal. She did not stamp the passport but said that I can expect back to hear from the office about the decision in 30-60 days via mail (she informed us that the decision letter is usually mailed our quicker than 30 days). We asked her if she needed any additional document or information and she said no. She walked us out and we thanked her.

I have a question about the GC approval...since we were not approved at the interview itself and are now expecting the GC notification and card in the mail, will there be any document stating whether the GC is conditional or not be attached when we recieve it?

appreciate your responses.
