My story has already been posted in the Nov. forum, but I thought I'd post it here too because I sort of fall in between those two months for filing.

Here's our interview story:

Arrived about 30 minutes early. Went through security and everything was fine. We both dressed up for our interview. Our officer was a young very friendly asian man. We could tell right away when he called us in that he was a pretty friendly guy. When we got in he asked us if we both agree to tell the truth, and we said yes, of course. He then wanted both of our state ID's, and my passport. Then it turns out he went to the same school as my husband so they chatted about that. Then he just told us that'd he'd go through the paperwork we had already sent in. He asked who had done our paperwork, and I said that I did. He said I had done a really good job on it. Better than lots of the attorney's work that he has seen. (Woo Hoo!) He asked some basic questions, my new last name, first name, middle names, address. Confirmed that I was born in Canada. Maybe something else that I can't remember. Then he asked if we lived on our own, so we said we live with our inlaws, so he then said, I guess that means you don't have any utility bills or anything like that in your name, and we agreed. Then he asked us a little about our relationship. How we met, when it was, when we became official. He then asked about all of the stuff that we had brought so I brought that out, just the evidence part. Pictures of us, our recent trip, and random things since we were married. Religious ceremony pictures and legal ceremony pictures. He then asked if that was all, then I remembered I had brought our bank statements and cell phone bills/statements. He wanted to keep them but I said those were the only copies we had, he was going to make a copy, but then I guess he just didn't feel like it, so he just wrote down the information on his notes. He then went back to the paperwork and asked me the series of questions from the I-485 application. (ie. terrorist, illegal drugs, polygamy, etc.) Then he said everything looked good, and he wanted to be the first to congratulate me on being approved for our application and that he was going to recommend approval. He asked us if we had any plans to visit out of country any time soon, my husband right away said no, but I said yes, because there are potential plans. Then he said he could give me the stamp in my passport so I got that, and it is valid for a month because he was sure I would receive my GC within the next 2 weeks. He asked if we had any more questions, we said no, he explained the conditional GC, and then we were done! It was only like 10-15 minutes long.

It was very easy! I was so nervous before hand, but once I was in the room, it wasn't bad at all. smile.gif

Good Luck to everyone else! smile.gif I'm sure you'll do great!

Btw, he didn't ask for ANYTHING else other than what I mentioned. Not our financial info, marriage cert, medical info, etc. etc.

Hope that gives the rest of you some confidence in your interviews. It'll be fine! :)

Hmmm, I was planning just to dress casual or business casual at most. Since my interview is exactly in a week, does anyone else have any experience on how to dress for the interview?

My husband didn't use a suit jacket. He had a buttoned long sleeve shirt and black pants.

I wore the only conservative-cut jacket I have in my closet and a black skirt. It's like going for a job interview. I think they like to see that you look like a responsible person.

Hmmm, I was planning just to dress casual or business casual at most. Since my interview is exactly in a week, does anyone else have any experience on how to dress for the interview?
