Is the 1099 just the form that your accountant fills out with all the info from the W2 on it and sends to the IRS? Now I'm getting confused about the tax stuff. I haven't gotten an RFE but you never know it could come.

No stress :) You only get a 1099 for certain kinds of income. I ONLY receive W-2s. 1099s are only filed if your original income was not taxed (ie. people who own their own businesses). My mom is a super-duper special kind of foster parent for kids with disabilities...technically she's a sub-contractor for the state, so she receives 1099s (however...unlike other business owners, my mom's income is actually tax exempt...I'm so jealous!).

Thank you, that's good to know!

Whatif, I put 2005, 2006, 2007 as the tax years, because 2008 was not done yet.... How could we submit info for 2008 if it wasn't complete. I think copies are fine, because the instructions should specify ORIGINALS.

Do you have the form 1040 that the accountant filled out? That's how I found out my husband had a 1099, it had another amount under his salary amount....

Hang in there....

Jillia, I am totally confused. I think that we are going to ask for copies of IRS transcripts since the W2's seemed not to be enough for us :(

My husband does all his taxes online and I believe he does not have any kind of other form which makes it quite difficult for me to go ahead with the process. The company who manages his pay stubs and so are the ones who told us we would not need any other form.

I will get back to you guys as soon as I clear this mess out,I am going insane.

Thank you all

You can try to order the transcript from the IRS now. If you really get the RFE ( I hope that you will not get that), u can just send the IRS transcript directly to them ( I heard it takes a week or so for them to send you the transcript)

I actually have the damn RFE in my hands... :(

Don't worry... Look at it in detail and you will know what to do... if you need any help, just let us know

Question for those of you who have already gotten your SSN: Once you obtain EAD, do you bring that back to the SSN office to get a new SSN card that doesn't say "Valid for work only with DHS authorization" or whatever it says?

CANDYACE you have this SS# for all your life now...they cant change that, you can use the number anywhere...where you need it to of course..they can change the SS card though.

On the card is written valid with work authorization ,this means valid with the EA card...

But once you get the green card, you just go to the SSA and update the SS card, they will give you same number, but on a SS card where wont be written anymore, valid with work authorization(or smthg like this)...You will be a resident,so no need to have a work authorization...You will have the green card...

Ok hope i was clear:)

Good luck...

I'm jealous at everyone here whose cases are pressing forward. It's almost been 60 days already and still no updates on either my I-485, I-765, and I-131 and you know what's strange? I haven't even received a biometrics letter yet. I know the I-765 takes 90 days to process but c'mon 60 days from filing and not even a single touch? This is really making me worried already. I placed a service request twice and even went to the local USCIS this week. None of these helped. What concerns me the most is that I'm waiting only to be told later that the USCIS lost my papers. Now, that's really the last thing I want to happen. If I call the USCIS, is there any way for the customer service rep to find out if my papers are lost or not?

What else can I do aside from waiting? Please help me on this guys.

Hmmmm.... since your packet was signed for and check cashed, I have doubts they lost it. Alot of people say that their online case is NEVER touched, and they get approved. Since it's only been 60 days, I wouldn't panic yet. It really sucks but we just have to be really patient and play this waiting game. I don't think there is much you can do, until it's 4-5 months and no action on your case. You also received your NOA's which is good.

Well I just tried what Jhunjhun told us about dialing the number of USCIS and it worked so I spoke with a lady who was very kind and told me it was very important to notify this since they cant continue if biometrics has not been done, so she submited a request to check what was the status and notify I have not received the biometrics. The only bad situation is that it seems this is going to take a looooooongg

time to be solved, they gave me March 7 as the time this should be checked! I was hoping to have permision to work and travel by then!.

i did the same thing. In fact, i already did it twice. The first time was January 16 (as you can see in my timeline) but until now, still no updates. I called USCIS again a few hours ago and I was informed that my service request for biometrics was forwarded on February 2 but they still haven't made an appointment for me yet. Please let me know itzy when you have received a biometrics letter already. This waiting game is driving me nuts.
