OK, I just called the USCIS and s/w a Rep and he said it just means that the transfer is complete to the CSC! I shouldn't worry...he sees no RFE or reason for RFE. So fingers crossed that he is correct!

Did anyone else get this 2nd email confirming 'transfer' to CSC is complete?

Thanks,

Gill

I got an interesting response today while trying to check my case status online.

"It was reported to us that your computer or internet gateway has been locked out for a select period of time. This is due to an unusually high rate of use. If you feel this has occurred incorrectly, please contact the USCIS webmaster or the Customer Service Center for assistance."

Now I realize I am a bit impatient and might check my status 2, 3, or 4 times a day but I know I'm not spending hours checking my case status or otherwise hanging out on the USCIS website! I'll have to check it when I get home to see if I get the same message.

A little late to the game but as they always say, better late than ever. We are December filers as well and just went for the Biometrics appointment this morning.

I am just now skimming this topic as I had an occurrence I thought odd and wanted to see if anyone else had this happen as well.

Submitted and received everything fine in December. NOA's arrived and Bio Appointment letter, even and RFE, all arrived with no problem. Then today, I received and email from CRIS stating that on Jan. 7th the post office returned two notices they tried to send to us. We have not moved and have been checking the mail on a regular basis, has anyone else had this experience?

Thanks,

SSA... #######!!!!

Okay so we went to change her name on her social security card. Presented everything... Marriage lic, passport with I-94, NOA for AOS... the works. A letter arrives today from the SSA Office saying:

"YOUR I-94 SHOW YOU ARE ONLY VALID TO WORK FORM 09/21/08 THROUGH 12/19/08 (typo is theirs) YOU ARE GOING TO NEED TO FILE YOUR SOCIAL SECURITY CARD APPLICATION AFTER YOU RECEIVE YOUR PERMANENT RESIDENT CARD. YOU WILL NEED TO COME BACK INTO THE OFFICE WITH YOUR ORIGINAL MARRIAGE CERTIFICATE, PASSPORT AND ALIEN CARD. THE DOCUMENT MUST BE ALL ORIGINAL NO PHOTOCOPIES. THANKS"

It's a name change application not an original issuance application. She's got a damn SSN already. This has nothing to do with work eligibility!!! Do they not know that they have already issued her a number and a card and that it says "Valid For Work Only With DHS Authorization"

WHAT'S THE PROBLEM.... Issue another one of those with her new last name on it.

I know there's that letter where we explain to them that it's okay to issue a SSN to K1 Visa holders but what about this...??? What do I do about this? Do I just go back up with all the paperwork and explain AGAIN that it's only a name change and that we've applied for AOS (as evidenced by the NOA) and also, by the way, applied for EAD (since we have a SSN now thank you very much).

What is with these people

Our Visa Journey

07/29/07 ---- Mailed I-129F

08/25/07 --- Check finally cashed (8/27 I should be able to see the R number on the back).

02/05/08 --- After 191 days NOA2 (Approval) comes at last!!!!

2/14/08 --- NVC sends letter saying that it's on the way to the US Embassy in Bangkok

2/25/08 --- She receives Packet 3 from the Embassy

3/29/08 --- She receives Packet 4 with interview date (July 11th).

3/30/08 --- I e-mail the Embassy asking to make the date earlier because I've already got our tickets for June 13th!!!

5/6/08 --- No help from the Embassy. Rebooked tickets and vacation till September.

5/21/08 --- Embassy calls her and moves interview to May 27th!!!!! You have got to be kidding me!!!

9/21/08 --- POE San Francisco!!!!

12/8/08 --- Married!!!!

It sucks...but you have to wait until after you receive your green card. They won't make any changes to it if you aren't currently eligible to obtain one. It's just like when I changed my name I had to prove my citizenship (I'm the USC)...I already had a card, but I had to prove I was still eligible. It would be too easy to marry and lie your way into a new SSC otherwise.
