well... above 10 years. that may sound strange to them :( I think they may have no issues when the man is older, as historically that's considered more "usual".

There have been quite a few people, at least on the K-1 board, who have had large age differences...I don't think it's a problem as long as you have lots of proof of relationship. When they interview you, they'll be looking for you to make a mistake...they might grill you harder because of the age difference, but as long as it's a real relationship, you won't have any problems because the answers will be second nature. They're more looking at HOW you give your answer, as opposed to WHAT the answer is. :)

See my timeline for my K-1 and AOS/EAD/AP details.

That's it! Finished filling the petitions with lawyer, who ended up being quite annoying.

Lawyer supposed to mail it tonight, yay! I hope so! Anyone else filling for December yet?

I used a joint sponsor as my hubby has been a student in the past fiscal years. I heard that if his income is enough at the present, they might not even put my joint sponsor in their system, is this true?

yes I can expect them asking funny questions about our age difference. hm, I don't know if I have that much proof of relationship yet... I don't like taking many pictures! maybe I should start! but we have endless hours of aim-messaging, perhaps I should print it all!

AOS ackage sent and delivered @ 12/4 12:35pm! YAY!

Anyone else filing these days?

Now I guess the waiting game starts.

When can you usually start checking your case status online? Is it when you get a case number?

When do you get a case number? Is it the same as "Receipt Number"? Is it in the NOA related to Receipt Notice?

lol...now comes the BIG wait. You should receive your NOAs (notice of actions...it's when they acknowledge receipt of your petitions) and a letter with your biometrics appointment date. At that point MOST people can track their petition on-line, some have reported not being able to and USCIS has been no help to them when they called to ask. Check out the guides for AOS, they are very helpful in letting you know what to expect. :)

Once you received your NOAs, you can find a receipt # on it. You can either tract your case online by using those receipts but sometimes USCIS website doesn't recognize it...like mine I can't view my case online since I received my NOAs. I'll wait 'til I get my Biometric done....

"Have faith in God, Jesus answered. I'll tell you the truth. if anyone says to this mountain, Go, throw yourself to the sea, and that does not doubt in his heart but believes that what he says will happen. it will be done for him. Therefore I'll tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours" (MARK 11:22-24)

I wouldn't stress too much. :) From what I've read on VJ most K-1s don't have to do an interview as long as they married within the 90 days. Not really any point to it...they just did the same interview to decide whether to issue the K-1 visa. Of course...logic isn't the US government's strong suit, but this one seems to hold true most of the time.
