(F)(F) May God enlighten our path as we enter 2009 with its dark clouds of uncertainty caused by the global financial crisis. Because Jesus the Lord is Emmanuel, which means "God is with us", let us trust in Him and be always hopeful that He who said, "Do not be afraid" will always be with us, in good times and in bad. A happy & prosperous New Year to one & all. (F) (F)

:help:We received 3 rejection notices (I-797C) along with the whole AOS package back from Chicago due to a mistake. We forgot to check 2 boxes in the I-485 & I-765 forms. My questions are:

1) Is it necessary to print another of those forms to rectify the problem? Or just check the missed boxes on the same forms we received from them & resubmit?

2) Shall we send back the I-797C's to Chicago when we resubmit the AOS package?

Has anyone experience something like this?...Please we need your speedy advice because we're planning to send it back ASAP. Thanks in advance.

Did they stamp it anywhere that it was rejected? Are there any marks that they made on the form? If not, I would say just check them and re-send them as is. If they did any rejection stamps or anything like that, I would say re-print them and send them again.

I don't think you need to send back the I-797Cs...You could make copies and include them, with a cover letter saying that you received these letters and have rectified the problem.

Good luck!

Hi November Filers, I'm so happy this evening because I've received a letter from USCIS about requesting to appear for initial interview on Feb. 11, 2009. Do you think there's another interview after the "initial interview"? Yes........whooooooooooooooohhhhhhhhhhh :yes:

Hope everybody will have a good news soon......

I hope my EAD will come soon.....

"Have faith in God, Jesus answered. I'll tell you the truth. if anyone says to this mountain, Go, throw yourself to the sea, and that does not doubt in his heart but believes that what he says will happen. it will be done for him. Therefore I'll tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours" (MARK 11:22-24)

I have updated our info on the time lines here and also on the spreadsheet for December filers. Our NOAs are dated 15th December and this evening I got an email to say our I-485 is being transferred to CSC.

Still waiting on the biometrics appointment though.

hey, I was wondering if the ASC people really know about this kind of stuff. Apparently not... I read this in VJ guidelines http://www.visajourney.com/faq/k1k2visa-aos.html :

"The photos you submitted with the I-485 will be used for your green card picture."

oh, well... let's see soon who's right.

oh I am sorry Diazy. but 11 days pass quickly!

I am back from my Biometrics and it was super easy going and quick - the employees at the Brooklyn NY ACS are extremely nice too. I asked if they do walk-ins, and they said they do it on Wednesdays and Saturdays.

I finally cleared my doubt about what is the Biometrics picture for! I found out, too late, that this picture will be the one on your green card AND the EAD! Unfortunately I didn't really go prepared to take an official picture as I did volunteering construction work in the morning =(

So this is for you guys who still have to do it - if you want to look good on your green card, look good on your Bio appointment day! ^_^

Thanks for telling me that  I'll make sure I put on some makeup and make my hair look nice the day of my appt LOL

Egad... I hope that it's the former, because otherwise, the wife will take so long getting "pretty" that we'll miss the appointment, si man. By the way, ALREADY got Bio letter -- NOA1s arrived Dec. 31, Bio letter Jan. 2 -- for a Jan. 20 appointment. The local office appears to be ridiculously nearby, too.

Is this the same USCIS that hosed us all those months during the I-129F wither-&-die period, si man?

By the way, no one appeared to answer the earlier question about the significance of the "MSC" prefix on the NOA1 letters. Is this a (bad) sign that the applications won't be transferred to CSC, which if they were would probably mean no interview?

06-04-2007 = TSC stamps postal return-receipt for I-129f.

06-11-2007 = NOA1 date (unknown to me).

07-20-2007 = Phoned Immigration Officer; got WAC#; where's NOA1?

09-25-2007 = Touch (first-ever).

09-28-2007 = NOA1, 23 days after their 45-day promise to send it (grrrr).

10-20 & 11-14-2007 = Phoned ImmOffs; "still pending."

12-11-2007 = 180 days; file is "between workstations, may be early Jan."; touches 12/11 & 12/12.

12-18-2007 = Call; file is with Division 9 ofcr. (bckgrnd check); e-prompt to shake it; touch.

12-19-2007 = NOA2 by e-mail & web, dated 12-18-07 (187 days; 201 per VJ); in mail 12/24/07.

01-09-2008 = File from USCIS to NVC, 1-4-08; NVC creates file, 1/15/08; to consulate 1/16/08.

01-23-2008 = Consulate gets file; outdated Packet 4 mailed to fiancee 1/27/08; rec'd 3/3/08.

04-29-2008 = Fiancee's 4-min. consular interview, 8:30 a.m.; much evidence brought but not allowed to be presented (consul: "More proof! Second interview! Bring your fiance!").

05-05-2008 = Infuriating $12 call to non-English-speaking consulate appointment-setter.

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

07-2008 = Daily calls to DOS: "currently processing"; 8/05 = Phoned consulate, got Section Chief; wrote him.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).

Umm...no, to all of your questions. :) Depending on where in the country you are the USCIS office that was keeping us all waiting was CSC or VSC (Vermont), the local offices didn't touch them. The MSC prefix doesn't seem to have any significance...it just seems to be the three numbers assigned to AOS/EAD/AP cases. All of my husband's are MSC numbers and his AOS was transferred to CSC.

Did they stamp it anywhere that it was rejected? Are there any marks that they made on the form? If not, I would say just check them and re-send them as is. If they did any rejection stamps or anything like that, I would say re-print them and send them again.

No stamp of rejection just date & numbers on the side of the forms so I'll just resubmit it after checking the missed boxes.

2) Shall we send back the I-797C's to Chicago when we resubmit the AOS package?

Has anyone experience something like this?...Please we need your speedy advice because we're planning to send it back ASAP. Thanks in advance.

I don't think you need to send back the I-797Cs...You could make copies and include them, with a cover letter saying that you received these letters and have rectified the problem. Good luck!

Good idea, I will do this & send it back immediately. Thank you for the speedy & informative response aravis227. Color your new year with love & peace. (F)

Hello fellow December filers :)

My wife's biometrics appt is on the 20th at 11am. What time should I be there? An hour earlier? Does it matter?

Thanks!

Tom

I would show up like 15 minutes early. Most people have said they were in and out really quickly, no wait. :)
