You will also receive an NOA when your case is transferred to CSC or your local office. NOA (or I-797 for USCIS) is just a Notice of Action...basically, they send you one whenever they do anything major with your case.

See my timeline for my K-1 and AOS/EAD/AP details.

However it did have what I believe to be case numbers for our EAD and 485...it started with an MSC...does anyone know if that's our case number?

There are case numbers for EAD and I485 on the biometric letter. They are yours.

For example, your EAD case number is MSC0000000003. Your I485 case number is MSC0000000005.

There are case numbers at the back of your cashed checks: MSC0000000001, MSC0000000002.

Than you can find your i130 case number, which will be MSC0000000004, your I131 case number - MSC0000000006.

So I mean that all your case numbers are close to each other. And if you know any of them you can find the rest.

I found my all case numbers like this when I get my biometric letter. And I checked them when I got my NOAs.

This may be a dumb question, but how do you know if your case been touched? I have been monitoring it online through my USCIS portfolio, but there has been no change since they were initially accepted the beginning of this month. Just wanted to make sure I was looking in the right place...

On the main case status on-line page that shows you your list of cases that you're tracking, it shows a "Last Updated" column. A touch is when that date changes, but there is no update in status.

I've been checking like 5 times per day to see if our check has been cashed... still nothing.... they were probably slow last week due to the holidays.

It probably was. Hopefully now that the holidays are mostly over, they'll get right back on getting our cases processed!

Yeah me too! They received mine on Dec 21 Sunday. So technically theyve only had 5 working days including today, but 8 calendar days. *sigh* I'm obsessed with progress of the entire package I've mailed in, and cant wait to get online access. I havent even received my NOA letters for anything yet so I cant log in anywhere to track my case. I updated my timeline but nothing appears in my signature like the others...how come?

My personal checks sent to USCIS have not cleared yet, so I checked online banking page all day today.

But I received all NOAs for my application today. NOAs are dated Dec.24 and noted USCIS received payments. So I think checks were deposited and pending for clearance at the bank.

My appointment is on Friday but I am thinking about doing a walk-in this Wednesday, 31st because I may be traveling.

I've read about people doing it in VJ, but I am thinking if it can cause any processing trouble... or if they can say I didn't do it at all...

Is it totally safe, if they do take me in?

Are the ASC centers gonna be open on the last day of the year?

I heard walk-ins are usually only on Wednesdays - is it true? I am going to the Brooklyn, NY one.

Yay! New biometrics appointment for January 9th! Rescheduling was not as bad everyone made it seem at all, it took a week to get his new date!

Thanks Gill! I hope you get your NOAs soon!

Mimigrant- Are you sure your office offers walk ins? I assumed mine would, but luckily before I drove all the way there, I found out they do not accept walk ins, only appointments. I think if you attempt a walk in, definitely do it before your scheduled appointment in case they turn you away for some reason.
