Hello! Just wanted to let y'all know that I got my GC in the mail on Friday (05/01). I don't have access to update the spreadsheet, so if anyone wants to complete it that will be good. It's very nice to see the spreadsheet almost all green!

Does anyone know if we are required to carry the actual card with us all the time? I'm afraid I'll lose it...

Congrats! I asked the same question and was told by many to carry the GC with you at all times... I'm hesitant too but it's the only way to prove your legal status, I guess we're supposed to

If I were you, I'd get a state ID or a DL, and, eventually, carry a copy of the GC with you. Hubby was a GC holder for 5 years, nobody asked for his GC. He presented it when hired, cause the employer wanted to see the card, but other than this, only USCIS asked for it at the naturalization interview or at POE.

If I were you, I'd get a state ID or a DL, and, eventually, carry a copy of the GC with you. Hubby was a GC holder for 5 years, nobody asked for his GC. He presented it when hired, cause the employer wanted to see the card, but other than this, only USCIS asked for it at the naturalization interview or at POE.

I also think that you don't need to carry green card everywhere. It is the same as passport (showing you identity and legal status), but in the USA passport is not used as identification, that is why Americans use IDs.

When I get my green card, I would keep it in the safe place.

Hi guys, our interview was in Minneapolis, MN on April 28. Sorry for sharing our experience little late. However, following content might help the rest, who did not have their interviews yet. Unfortunately, like most of you, our interview was not a piece of cake. It was real intensive and the IO was very rude and gave us real hard time. She interviewed us separately, first she interview me (beneficiary) for about 35 minutes and then my wife (petitioner) for about 15 minutes. She wrote down all my answers and asked the same questions to my wife to match the answers. She asked me many questions and sometimes even rephrased the same questions to see if I answer the same. She made me stressed out so much at the end that I wished if I could just get out of the room.

Here is my background - F1 status for last 9 years and just finished my Masters degree in December 08 from ND. Meet my wife in January 08 in NY and got married in July 08. My wife did not transfer to my school as it was not feasible because I was graduating in December 08 and did not know where I was going move or get a job. So, we did not live together until February 09 when I got a job in a software firm in SD. However, we visited each other 4 times during the 6 months period and kept all the proof of our airline tickets. I believe not living together after marriage could be the reason behind this harsh interview. At the end of my wife’s interview, the IO told my wife, ‘You are done’ and did not tell anything else about the approval or anything else. My wife was nervous and did not ask anything further and left.

Good News: We got the I-130 approval notice past Saturday and a RFE for my I-485 requesting my joint sponsor’s proof of Citizenship. I sent the proof today and hopefully everything will be fine and the I-485 will be approved.

We filed AOS on 12-1-08, had interview on 3-12-09, IO said approved. Have not heard anything yet....No notice of approval, no "Welcome to America", no greencard. Have called 1-800 number many, many times. 2 infopass appointments and still not a bit of information. They will not tell us anything....application still processing. I am getting very frustrated!

Anyone have any advice or insight on this matter, I am trying to stay patient and optimistic but this is quite stressful.

I have another Infopass appointment next week. It will be over two months since our "approved" interview. If I get no information then I will pursue another avenue. (Contact Senator?).

Im very suprised by this because our IO that did interview was very professional and very squared away, I was very confident we would have our papers taken care off.

Well I guess another couple months of checking mailbox every day and getting dissapointed is in the future. I will be sooooooo glad when this is over.
