Should I book one more short trip to Nicaragua before the interview? ...which will hopefully be in March and I'm planning on spending a week or so there before we return.

Last time I saw him was 3 days in September (before that 1 month in April)...can't tell if I'm getting crazy or this is a legitimate logic that I'm using. We were orginally going to try to tough it out, for financial reasons, but had a mutual agreement that if we heard nothing by January that I would plan a quick trip.

We are just getting into that really difficult stretch, and I can't help trying to convince myself that what could be more important that seeing my fiance to work on our relationship...

I found tickets for 400$ (!)--I have no vacation time left and I've got a small amount of credit card debt, that I'd rather not have. What do you think?

More trips the better. Not only do the COs like more trips but your relationship will benefit one way or the other also.

I couldn't agree more...even if it's just a quick trip it will be great for your relationship and $400??? Hello?! No way would I pass up that opportunity! September to March is a huge stretch to go without seeing each other. Yes it would be nice not to have that credit card debt, but put it on the back burner for a minute and go see your papacito!

Go, go, go!!!!! I wish I could go too! Let me know what you decide.

Here's my update: Medical passed!

We are just waiting on one more thing so that we can fax the checklist and get the interview date.

If I had the time away from work and someone to watch the kids I would be in Nicaragua in a heartbeat...

I voted no, given your vacation status. Will you take time off without pay and will that have a negative impact on your job? You need your job for AOS, so that should be a major consideration.

Anyway, if none of the above are issues, start packing.

The problem is... is that I dont have enough paid vacation to go now and for the interview.

I'm also worried that if I buy a ticket in january, if luck has it's way with us, we will have an interivew in feb or march... and that would just be a lot of vacation time, tickets etc. in very little time...

I think my newest resolution is to wait until january and buy a ticket last minute, given they are the same great price...down down down oil prices!
