Hi,

I am little confused. Do I have to write my case# literally on each paper that I send for my I-864. Can someone tell me do I need my tax papers notarized, or anything that I need to notarized.

Thanks in advance.

My husband sent in the I-864 so I'm not sure what he had to do on them but I can tell you that I did the DS-230's and had to write our MTL (Montreal consulate) numbers on every document we sent in, including the originals. We wrote it in pencil in upper right corners.

It is always recommended to use computer for that purpose rather 'hand print'

Yes, you need to write down the case number. Usually, top right hand corner is the best place to write the case number. You need your I-864 notarized only. Photocopies are fine for W-2.

I-130 Timeline with USCIS:

It took 92 days for I-130 to get approved from the filing date

NVC Process of I-130:

It took 78 days to complete the NVC process

Interview Process at The U.S. Embassy

Interview took 223 days from the I-130 filing date. Immigrant Visa was issued right after the interview

Hi-

I was afraid someone over there would screw up, so I did EACH page. I did it in spells, as my hand would have cramped !!

you know the DOS, NVC, EMbassy is famous for loosing things and sending RFEs

so bottmline - make things go smootly by putting the case number on everything. things are done

by humans and its natural to make errors. I wrote it in big text- so even if the person has bad eye sight

they can read it!

Due to my bad handwriting, I printed a sheet of clear address labels with our case number and put it on right corner of every page i sent to NVC.

For I-864 Affidavit of Support, you only need to notarized the 864.
