Ying passed the interview ! We arrived at 9:30 for a 10:05 interview, another couple we knew with a 9:25 interview were still waiting. It became clear they were running behind schedule. About 10:45 am, one of the interviewers came out and called Ying's name, it was a false start, she just wanted to let her know it would be another 40 minutes and we could go get a coffee or something. A nice touch, we saw her advise a few other folks. No other interviewers were doing the same, as other folks we talked to were just waiting, with no other info. About 90 minutes late the interview started and lasted about 35 minutes. Wanted to see Ying's birth certificate and kept the tax transcripts. The tax info was the same as sumitted with the N-400, but also included 2008. ?? I was the last one left in waiting area when she emerged. She was told would get the oath letter soon.

I had my interview at the Newark, NJ DO today. Appointment was for 9:40am, we got there at 9:15am and got called at about 11AM. Interview was VERY quick. She asked me the 5 questions, asked me to lay the following items on the table - my drivers license, selective service, greencard, my passport, my wife's passport or birth certificate, marriage certificate. She didn't even know/care that I wasn't wearing my wedding ring...whoops :whistle:

After that, she went through the regular questions, not even giving me a chance to answer them. She basically said "you didn't do any of these right [then proceeded to read through the list]?" She told me I passed and to wait outside in the waiting area and I'll be called in 1/2 hr - 1hr to sign the certificate. I ended up waiting 2 1/2 hrs instead..

All in all, the most frustrating thing was the VERY long wait...I was concerned about not mentioning my speeding tickets (one fine was $800 because I went to court to waive the points).

Finally, i'm done with my immigration journey. going to apply for a passport next week and then forget about USCIS!! G'luck to all that are still riding the USCIS/INS/Immigration roller coaster!

Congrats!!! eventhough it took some waiting time you were able to get it all done in the same day, that is not common.... good luck on your journey for a passport...

I had my interview at the Newark, NJ DO today. Appointment was for 9:40am, we got there at 9:15am and got called at about 11AM. Interview was VERY quick. After that, she went through the regular questions, not even giving me a chance to answer them. She basically said "you didn't do any of these right [then proceeded to read through the list]?" She told me I passed and to wait outside in the waiting area and I'll be called in 1/2 hr - 1hr to sign the certificate. I ended up waiting 2 1/2 hrs instead..

All in all, the most frustrating thing was the VERY long wait...I was concerned about not mentioning my speeding tickets (one fine was $800 because I went to court to waive the points).

Finally, i'm done with my immigration journey. going to apply for a passport next week and then forget about USCIS!! G'luck to all that are still riding the USCIS/INS/Immigration roller coaster!

Congratulations to everyone who has been passing their interview and/or taking their oath this week!!! :star: :star: :star:

And now I hope those last few interview letters will arrive soon.

I was very sick all week (what timing), but at least I'm out of bed today. I hope the antibiotics will work wonders and make me well by Friday. I don't want to miss the oath ceremony for anything in the world.
