I had my appointment at 8:40, reached there at 8:35 in the lobby, got called back at 8:45. The officer was a nice old gentleman. He made me swear to tell the truth before sitting down, then asked me to show him the GC. Then chatted with me about what I do, where I live and other things in life for a few min (to make me comfortable before the test I guess). Then he said I already know you can write english very well but still pls write down this sentence for me on this paper, which I did (George washington was the first president). Then he asked me 10 questions from the civics test all of which I answered correctly. He kept shaking his head apologetically saying I don't know why they want to ask these questions. Then he congratulated me and said that I passed the test and now let's go back to the application. Then he made me answer all the questions on the application orally, asked me if I had any additional foreign trips than the ones listed there. I told there were couple 2 day trips to Canada, and he just wrote on the application 'small trips to Canada' but didn't ask me the dates. Finally he asked me if I am approved for citizenship and I become a citizen, would I bear arms for protection of the United States in war, I said yes. Then he asked, would I be willing to work as a civilian for the country if asked by the government in the time of crisis, I said yes. Then he told me to sign on the application and said he will be right back after finding out an oath date for me. Then he came back and said there are 2 oath ceremonies coming on April 16th and May 7th but they are both full, so my oath ceremony will be on June 18th.

I didn't have to show any documents at all other than the GC and the whole thing was done in 15 min. I was out of there at 9 AM and reached my workplace in time :yes:

I have not written the questions that were asked in the civics test as they are all very simple and everybody knows the entire pool of questions already so which ones were asked will not be of any help to anybody.

Any other questions are welcome.

Hi Alwayswin,

Sorry for "crashing" this N-400 thread, but I've been reading following and reading up on N-400 cases here on VJ, as I'll be applying for that in August 2009. I'm particularly interested in Buffalo NY cases (which there aren't too many about here on VJ) as likewise, my "local" office is in Buffalo, NY, and I would like to read about "what is in store for me later on in Buffalo, NY", when I do apply for Citizenship very soon.

Congratulations on passing your N-400 interview today, Alwayswin!! Glad that it was short and easy for you to pass and be approved during that interview. Thanks too, for the detailed review about your interview experience, which I learned a lot from too. By the way, was your interview at the Delaware Ave building in downtown Buffalo? As well, what civics questions did they ask you during your interview, and did you find them difficult to study for and answer when asked?

And yes, I (and I'm sure other VJers) would like to hear about your upcoming oath ceremony experience in June too here on VJ, so do keep up updated on that here on VJ too!
