Went for the fingerprinting today. The appointment was at 10 and the place being abt 30 min away from my home, i was in too much hurry when i saw that at 9:35 I was still at home. Anyway, made it there exactly at 10 and when they wanted to see photo identification, I discovered that I had left my wallet at home in haste. Last night, before going to bed, I had kept the appointment letter and my passport (as a backup even though there was no need for me to bring passport) together so I tried to give the lady my passport for photo identification. She said you had to bring the GC. I said I forgot my wallet at home. I can come back with it in an hour. She says no that won't work. Then I said it's written on the appointment letter that passport is acceptable as photo ID and she said you are a permanent resident it is written here that you MUST bring the GC. I again pleaded I forgot the wallet in a hurry. She asked do you have the driving license? I said I forgot the wallet!! She frowned and asked - And did you drive? I hesitated but told her the truth. I said actually yes, I did. She said alright, come on in. We'll take your fingerprints. Was done in 5 min. after that. They stamped my appointment letter saying that I was there and gave me a booklet of questions and answers for the test with an addendum sheet which has updated answers to some questions.

Oh my, that sounds like an exciting morning. Lucky you that they fingerprinted you anyways and didn't send you away. For the interview, please plan on some extra time AND doublecheck that you have all your papers.

Will try to take whatever I can for the interview Hope it's not in April coz I'm going out of the country for a month and I'll have to reschedule.

Lucky you about the appointment. If I wouldn't have made it (a 2 1/2 hour drive one way), I would have had to wait for a new appointment. They only see people who have an appointment the same day. But it makes sense, I must say the Service Center was pretty busy and there were plenty of people. I was impressed how fast and efficient everybody was processed.

Well I had my fingerprinting done today, I had to drive about 1 1/2 hours to the location but it was a beautiful day so it wasn't so much of a problem. I arrived about 1 hour early for the appointment and they took me straight away, I was in and out with 10 minutes. Now its checking the mail every day again for the interview letter.

I checked the online status at the USCIS website and there is no update since my NOA 1 was sent.

Maybe your biometrics from 2007 are still good and you skip fingerprinting and go right to the interview? I keep my fingers crossed.

Tell me about it. The more I read about it and the more I think about it, the more nervous I get because of all the things that COULD go wrong. I just want to get it over with and have certainty.

I would give it some more time. I sent my application 12/10 and I received my fingerprint notice on 1/2 or 1/3. When was the last time you had fingerprints taken? Maybe they still have valid prints of yours in the system.

Just got my fingerprints done today at the San Francisco Application Support Center.

I arrived to a line of about 15 people outside the front door when I got there around 7:50. My appointment was at 8:00am which is the same as the center's opening time. The process was pretty simple, I was handed a number as I stood in line. Once inside, I had to fill out a form with basic information and waited for my number to called about 30 minutes later. A receptionist reviewed my form, stamped it, then asked me to wait to be called for fingerprinting. A few minutes later, I got called to do the actual fingerprints. No ink, and took just a few minutes.

Total time was about 45 minutes for me. Now I wait for my interview notice. Looking at other posts on this site, it looks like the wait time for the notice is about 2 to 5 weeks after the bio date.

den_y2005, you should not worry at all. We are in the same situation, I have not gotten my bio notice either (I had my last fingerprint in February 08). I called uscis yesterday, they told me I need to wait at least 30 days from the receipt date of of the application before inquiry about it bio notice. Thus, I will call back this Friday.

But, if you look at previous months forums, couple of people received their interview letter without fingerprint. Who knows, maybe they consider our bio still valid! Some people might say they did theirs few months ago, and they had to do it again for N-400; I would say those poeple are being logical in their thought process. uscis is not very logical
