I just wish they would hurry up and send my flash cards so I can start learning before my interview!

Maybe you'll get them in the mail today. :thumbs: I started using them for studying today and I put only 8 out of 100 aside because I wasn't sure about the answer. So it's not that bad. Have you started studying with the booklet you got when you got your fingerprints done? Don't worry, you should get your invitation for the interview at least four weeks ahead of time. That leaves plenty of time to study. :star:

Hopefully they will come today, I think I ordered mine the day after you. I did the test and probably know about 60%. I need to get the new cabinet names to change the cards. I feel like I am at least 50% there. I have read some of the book I can't honestly say I have studied it. I am hoping I will find the cards easier.

Hello all,

I have a question about fingerprint. I am sure someone here will be able to answer.

I was looking around on the internet, and I saw that fingerprints are good for 15 months.

I had one done in February 2008 (11 months or so old). The question is will I have to do another one for the N-400 application?

yes you probably will get a request for a new set of finger prints. I had mine done in May 2008 and got a request for biometrics again in December.

Hi doxATL! I am in the same situation as you: had my last fingerprints done in Feb 08, and I haven't yet received a biometrics notice. It will be interesting to see what happens! I am expecting to receive a new bio notice, but it seems to be taking longer than just about everyone else...

US Citizen since August 09.

Went for the fingerprinting today. The appointment was at 10 and the place being abt 30 min away from my home, i was in too much hurry when i saw that at 9:35 I was still at home. Anyway, made it there exactly at 10 and when they wanted to see photo identification, I discovered that I had left my wallet at home in haste. Last night, before going to bed, I had kept the appointment letter and my passport (as a backup even though there was no need for me to bring passport) together so I tried to give the lady my passport for photo identification. She said you had to bring the GC. I said I forgot my wallet at home. I can come back with it in an hour. She says no that won't work. Then I said it's written on the appointment letter that passport is acceptable as photo ID and she said you are a permanent resident it is written here that you MUST bring the GC. I again pleaded I forgot the wallet in a hurry. She asked do you have the driving license? I said I forgot the wallet!! She frowned and asked - And did you drive? I hesitated but told her the truth. I said actually yes, I did. She said alright, come on in. We'll take your fingerprints. Was done in 5 min. after that. They stamped my appointment letter saying that I was there and gave me a booklet of questions and answers for the test with an addendum sheet which has updated answers to some questions.

You know you don't have to order those flash cards. You can download them from the uscis website for free.

The flash cards, test questions, and a study booklet are all right there on the site and can be downloaded and printed

on your printer. This is what we did. Go to this website and scroll down to the bottom. You will find the vocabulary test, written test vocabulary,

gov. and civic test questions, and flash cards.

You know you don't have to order those flash cards. You can download them from the uscis website for free.

The flash cards, test questions, and a study booklet are all right there on the site and can be downloaded and printed

on your printer. This is what we did. Go to this website and scroll down to the bottom. You will find the vocabulary test, written test vocabulary,

gov. and civic test questions, and flash cards.

I dont have time to print them and make them into proper cards so for $13 I ordered them.....and they still haven't arrived. Customer services said either tomorrow or Monday. Talk about sticking to the 7-14 days delivery!

I again pleaded I forgot the wallet in a hurry. She asked do you have the driving license? I said I forgot the wallet!! She frowned and asked - And did you drive? I hesitated but told her the truth. I said actually yes, I did. She said alright, come on in. We'll take your fingerprints. Was done in 5 min. after that. They stamped my appointment letter saying that I was there and gave me a booklet of questions and answers for the test with an addendum sheet which has updated answers to some questions.

Oh my, that sounds like an exciting morning. Lucky you that they fingerprinted you anyways and didn't send you away. For the interview, please plan on some extra time AND doublecheck that you have all your papers. :blush:
