Had my fingerprinting done today and everything went very smooth. Now the wait for the interview letter begins...

I walked in to San Jose ASC to have my fingerprints collected. Nobody questions me about walking in earlier than appointment date. Everything is done in 15 mins. Pretty uneventful. 2 of my fingers have Match Warning flashing. The technician didnt seem to care. I assume that is a common occurrence.

In the Alexandria, VA office I saw a sign which stated that they would only see you if you had an appointment for the same day. You might want to check with your local office if and when you can do a walk-in.

At the entrance there was a desk where they checked your appointment letter and your greencard and ID card (e.g. driver's license, passport, military ID card etc.). Then you had to fill out a form with your info. After you were done you handed everything back, they checked it and gave you a ticket with a number. I had a seat for about two minutes before my number was called. The lady who did my fingerprinting checked my info again and she was very nice. I had a warning flashing for several fingers and she repeated some of the prints several times. In the end she did a final check and only one finger had a red check which meant it had to be redone. Over all, I guess the printing took about 5 minutes total. I was a little worried that the prints were not a good enough match. On the other hand I think the officers take these prints every day, over and over again. I guess they have a pretty good feeling if they came out o.k. or not. It's probably hard to get a print that is 100% perfect.

well we are leaving in an hour to go to Sacramento for FP. Our appointment is at 8 Am so we will have to stay overnight. We will stay in Redding tonight then it is only 2 1/2 hours to Sac.

well we are leaving in an hour to go to Sacramento for FP. Our appointment is at 8 Am so we will have to stay overnight. We will stay in Redding tonight then it is only 2 1/2 hours to Sac.

Good luck! I can't believe there's no field office closer to you guys.

Just came back from the fingerprint. Beside it was a long drive ( a bout 2 hrs each way),it wasn't bad, i didn't have to take photo this time, only the fingerprints. It didn't take long, when i got there, there are 2 people infront of me. I got out there with in 25 min.

Fingerprints are all done. 8 hours drive for ten minutes of fingerprinting. We were number 3 and were gone in ten minutes. The guard did tell me that our interview will be in Sacramento and not in San Francisco. It is the same drive but we can stay at my mothers in Redding if we go to Sac.

Good luck to all others getting FP done. Things are going quickly now.

Congrats on getting one more step over with... and it might be tough doing all that driving - but just think - each time you do it you're closer to being done with USCIS forever....

So... I haven't yet received the biometrics appt. letter and my case hasn't been touched since the 1st (which makes it unlikely that the letter is in the mail). It seems like just about everyone with a similar timeline (including Debra&John, who have the same local office) has gotten theirs. Is it time to call them?
