thanks for reply!!!

Well, I`m considering applying for it. So, what does it take to get such job??? How is it paid (I read it is a base pay plus comission)??? Just anything else you could share with the starter.

I've applied for a number of leasing consultant jobs online, and only one ever replied to me.

Most state that they don't require previous experience, and don't require a college degree but I guess that would depend on the company.

I had no experience in apartment leasing, and the reason I got my job is because I have a year's experience in retail, and apparently a positive, friendly attitude. If you're applying I would play up any retail/sales experience you do have, and if you don't have any then mention that you're a people person, very persuasive, always friendly, positive and easy to get along with. Also, I've found that applying online only isn't really great because most people never respond to your applications, so if you want to be a leasing consultant I would try going to the apartment complexes in your area and inquiring about jobs, that way they can see face-to-face what you're like, as I think in any sales job, appearance and attitude are just as important, if not more, than experience or education.

I guess pay would depend on where in the US you are, but I get a not great base pay, then $50 commission per new lease and $25 commission per lease renewal.

From what I've learned so far (as I said, I'm in my first week still!) it seems that the job is easy but interesting and varied. Good luck if you do decide to apply! :)

Many states require a real estate license (Texas is one) if I'm understanding the Leasing Consultant position correctly. Depending on the company - it is typically a salary/hourly-wage plus commission or a split commission of some sort (sometimes just a salary/wage w/no commission).
