When to contact Congressman?

Hey guys! I have seen multiple threads about people contacting his/her congressman. I was just wondering at what point this should be done.

I know I have saw a lot of people say to do this once you have been waiting for 6 months. I just didn't know if that was still the case since the

processing times have been changed once again. Next week will be our 6 month mark and we have not heard anything....no RFE (thank GOD) and no NOA2.

We have also not had a touch since June 26 (not sure that this means anything). I have called the USCIS several times in the past couple of weeks...the

first two times they would not allow me to be sent through to the next level of support. The third time that I called I spoke with an immigration officer who

basically said that our case was still pending and "these things could take up to 9 months." But obviously this is not true because they are already approving

July and August filers. Any advice or anyone that has been through this long wait?

I think they tell you wait until you are at 6 months because your congressman might not get involved before you are outside "normal" processing times.

Since you are so close to the 6-month mark, go ahead and contact your representative now, it can't hurt!

Good luck.

I think you should contact your congressman now!!

We have done it as we hit the 5 months mark because most others with the same timline were already approved. The congressman couldn't do anything because USCIS just replied (a written response even to us) that we are within the current processing time of 6 months. Oh well...here we are still waiting.

So guess what we will do as soon as we hit 6 months? We will contact our congressman again while showing him USCIS letter from the last time.

You can also contact USCIS but I think they won't start a service request before you hit 6 months+ 30 days or something. So I would recommend the congressman for now. HAs worked for some cases before!
