I will have my AOS interview very soon. I am pretty nervous. I collected as much information as possible. I just went to the courthouse and got my husband's birth certificate and our marriage certificate.

We have been trying to be able to answer common questions such as when we met, how long we dated, when we decided to marry things like that. We have know each other since 2000. So it has been a long time. It is sometimes hard to remember things.

We have not gone to honeymoon trip. We are planning on it in April. We are thinking about going to San Fransisco.

It has been too busy for my husband to get time off and also we did not save enough money for it.

Any suggestions?

if you've known each other since 2000 and have been together for a while, you shouldn't have to worry too much. as long as you have good evidence to prove your relationship, there's no reason for them to get suspicious. (joint account, joint lease, joint insurance, photos, etc.)

we had our interview at philadelphia office on november 18. i was pretty nervous myself, but our IO was really nice and it went very smoothly. i just received my green card in the mail today.

the IO first asked when/where we met and how long we've been together. we told her that we met in september 2004 and started dating november 2004. after the IO heard that, she didn't care too much about asking questions. she asked me my full name, birthday, last date of entry (and location) and address. she asked my husband his full name, birthday, occupation and address. i think that's about all the questions she asked.

good luck & don't worry too much, you should do fine. :)

Here are some tips based on my recent AOS interview:

1) both of you must know where the evidence is located in your folder in order to retrieve it for the officer, in case you have a separate interview. both of you must know where the 864, tax transcripts, joint bank statements are and be ready to retrieve it for the officer.

2) study the beneficiary's G-325 and study petitioner's G-325. the officer will question the petitioner about the beneficiary and vice versa. be prepared to answer questions about the beneficiary. the officer wants to know if the petitioner knows everything about the beneficiary.

3) be consistent with your answers, be short, and don't go into a long complicated story, because the officer will dissect the information and try to trick the other person about retelling the story, and if the other person tells a different story, it will be problem. just give short answers.

4) the officer is always suspicious about your marriage and the interview's objective is to not make him suspicious. if he sees that your answers match, he will be convinced that your marriage is bona fide.

5) he will take the beneficiary's I-94, so make extra copy of I-94.

6) he will have both of you make an oath to tell the truth.

7) bring a letter of employment for both petitioner and beneficiary. paystubs for both petitioner and beneficiary, as proof of both parties employment.

7/31/08.......... I130, I485, I765 Notice Date

11/25/08.........AOS Interview in Tampa, FL

1/12/09...........USCIS mailed Notice of Intent to Deny. Evidence: Conflicting statements made by USC spouse at the interview to proof to officer that the marriage was bona fide.

March 2009......Received Denial Notice of I-130 and 485.

Don't get nervous interview is pretty easy it's all about you and your husband. My husband answered the wrong dates like when he was asked about when we first met and etc.., he is bad in remembering dates but at least close to, don't have to be perfect in answering the immigration officer they knows if we are telling the truth and the relationship is genuine. We don't even have a joint account or bills I only showed our insurance and pictures during our wedding and pictures with my family here (glued in bond paper with levels) they took everything for their record. Don't stress yourself it's pretty easy. Goodluck!!
