I saw on the news this afternoon that they're reviewing the security tapes footage and trying to identify people in the mob, but its diffcult because there are so many all crushed together. But apparently they do intend to try to charge somebody, if anybody can be identified.

that's good to hear. the thought of being people so selfish that they'd step on someone, literally, for a discounted item makes me feel sick. they should be in jail.

For next year's Black Friday, there should be police in riot gear, armed with gas or rubber bullets. Maybe that seems excessive, but these people need to learn that getting a good deal when shopping is not worth someone's life. Maybe those measures will teach people to act like human beings instead of mindless savages.

Not easy to prove culpability on the part of the mob - especially if people were pushed forward from behind.

Walmart was negligent - they should have operated a ticket system like the other big stores, or posted some sort of door security.

i'm still perplexed by this. how could anyone be so selfish? isn't this time of year about thinking of others..?

if they cannot be prosecuted then i hope they at least feel guilty for the rest of their living days and are banned from all walmart stores too. that'll teach em.

Or they could have done like ours. Just stay open 24 hours. Then there are no locked doors, no stampede. People trickle in over a period of time and wait for the employees to wheel out the pallets of stuff. Sometimes the employees actually get to take the shrink-wrap off themselves, and sometimes it's mauled and destroyed by the lemmings. I've only seen one fight at our Wally World. That was between two women who both wanted the one remaining toy of some sort. There was hair flying and blood splattering.

Plus I am looking forward to going shopping for it, I'd love to be around mature and responsible lovers of the constitution.... and not the low-income scumbags who shop at Walmart.

I don't know where you are in the UK Rocks, but I used to frequent Brent Cross Shopping Centre on occasion and honestly, I hear ya.

i used to work close that mall. It is straight up ghetto over there. I feel sad that evil consumerism turns people into crazed lunatics just for shopping I feel really sorry for the dude that worked there.
