Maybe some of you women out there will know the significance of handbags made by "Dooney & Bourke", but my wife saved $207 on a Dooney & Bourke purse at Dillards. They clearly messed up, since it was supposed to be only 30% off, but ended up 70% off. The sales clerk checked with her manager, and they had to go with what was in the computer! After all, computers never lie. Just ask HAL!!!;)

Score!!!

** Black Friday. Stop the Madness!

Wal-Mart Worker Dies After Shoppers Knock Him Down

A worker was killed in the crush Friday after a throng of shoppers eager for post-Thanksgiving bargains burst through the doors at a suburban Wal-Mart, authorities said.

Wal-Mart Stores Inc. in Bentonville, Ark., called the incident a "tragic situation" and said the employee came from a temporary agency and was doing maintenance work at the store.

"He was bum-rushed by 200 people," co-worker Jimmy Overby, 43, told the Daily News. "They took the doors off the hinges. He was trampled and killed in front of me. They took me down too. ... I literally had to fight people off my back."

Nassau County police said the 34-year-old worker was taken to a hospital where he was pronounced dead at about 6 a.m. The man's name was not released and the cause of death was not immediately known.

That's disgusting.

I don't care how good the sales are, none of it is worth killing someone over. The worst part about this story -- if you click on the link and read more -- was that the shoppers who stormed the doors and killed that man didn't care at all! They were actually annoyed at being told the store was closing (due to the death) and yelled that they had been wailing in line since Thursday. That, of course, begs that question: how lame are you to have absolutely no life whatsoever that you spend your Thanksgiving waiting in front of a store?

You know what also kills me about this story? The man who died was a temp. He didn't even work at Wal-Mart on a full or part-time basis. He was probably there as a seasonal employee at best and he was killed because morons who just had to get that low-priced item couldn't wait and act like civilized human beings.

I made it out of the house by 3:30 pm. I bought my mom a 32" HDTV at costco. It was $50 off the already low price I was prepared to pay.

"The fact that we are here today to debate raising America’s debt limit is a sign of leadership failure. It is a sign that the U.S. Government can’t pay its own bills. It is a sign that we now depend on ongoing financial assistance from foreign countries to finance our Government’s reckless fiscal policies."

What? take away military privileges? How many people do you think you enlist to serve the country just because they're patriot if they have no incentive at all to do so?
