You most likely will not have any touches for a very very long duration. The case reviewers are not periodically looking over your file every other week, doing a little here, a little there. Your file typically sits for several months while the Officers review cases that were submitted prior to yours.

I remember reading a post here by a fellow who stated he worked for USCIS. If what he says is true, than it takes the officer reviewing a file, roughly 20 minutes to check the national databases to make sure your not a criminal or a sexual pervert, and that you are who you say you are ect ect. 20 minutes is all.

The 3-4 months of waiting, is back log.

Typically, if you look at the timelines of people who have acquired their NOA2, you will see a pattern of 2-3 touches in consecutive days, leading up their NOA2.

So, if your 4 months into your wait, and you notice that they have touched your file 2-3 days in a row... there is a chance your NOA2 is in the mail to you, or an RFE.

But even an RFE is good... because typically that means they are in the process reviewing your case, and as soon as you resolve the RFE, you will see your approval.

I think we filed for AOS the same day as you, or very close to it. We got an RFE; I think that set us back a couple of weeks. We just recently got the AP and work permit, but still no news on the AOS approval. I guess most of us still waiting for one thing or another. Our K1 seemed to take forever, and now it seems like just more waiting, but it could be worse. Stay strong!

Don't worry, eventually you'll get it, but the waiting tends to drive us all a bit nuts! I filed the 129f last year in May and the AOS this past March and we just got his GC a couple of weeks ago! Takes them forever to do anything, but worse than waiting, I think, is watching people who file a month or two after you, getting approved several months before you.

Keep your chin up...it's all worth it!
