Just thought I'd post my experience here to share:

Pretty easy exprerience. Interviewer was nice and asked if i wanted to go straight to the history questions, since i can speak and write English (I'm British) He made funny jokes about he would pick the questions with the British parts! He asked 6 questions:

Who is the current VP?

What is the highest court?

How many representatives?

Who were sold as slaves?

Who makes the laws of the land?

How many stars on the flag?

He did note that I was very early in applying for citizenship and he was surprized (it's a little over 3 years). He also asked for some current evidence of marriage (I nearly didn't bring any, since i submitted them with the application!) Luckily I had my vet bill from the night before and a current bank statement and voila - it was over!! I have my oath scheduled for December 11th so that'll be a nice early Christmas prezzie!

I've always wondered if they would make a British person do the English test!

Yes and he laughed and said "Why did the US want independence?" and I said "I don't know. Why did you?" He thought that was hilarious and I laughed and said that they were whiners because the taxes were too high!

Luckily the speaking and writing wasn't too easy although the guy said I had spelt my name wrong - yet another dig!! Easily amused!!!

Congratulation, Laura

It seems that you have new test format since some questions are new to me.

Is your spouse required to be present with you on the day of interview?

No, not required and might not even be let in. However, some people have been asked about their spouses at the interview. So if he/she is free, it is a good idea to accompany you, even if he/she has to wait somewhere nearby for you.
