we have decided only to give gifts to the kids this year.... it is just too much if we get everyone something... I haven't sent anything to my family either.. I think sometime next year I will send them a big box of stuff like I did earlier this year to cover Birthdays and Christmas...

I am working on a memorial CD of hubby and his sib's mom.. I hope to have it finished by Christmas.. I plan to give each of them a copy of it...

That's what we do---only get gifts for the kids (well, the oldest of our three nieces just turned 20, so she isn't really a kid anymore I guess). Last year we got each other gifts, too, but this year we are not going to do that. We will, errm, umm, give each other something other than a store bought gift, wink, wink. I exchange gifts with my coworkers too, but other than that, just our nieces and my friend's 6-year-old-daughter and my other friend's 1-year-old grandson.

Marilyn, those ornaments are gorgeous!!

That butterfly would be perfect for my tree Marilyn :hehe:

well you can't have it :P

they can be found at Target though ;)

I was just thinking it would look so cool having a whole tree decorated with those butterflies... but it would be kind of expensive at 4 dollars each :P

yeah I plan to do that every year but we never have money after Christmas.. this year we actually might have money though  Walgreens always has their Christmas stuff marked way down... I think one year I got a bunch of Christmas wrap for 10 cents a roll

I don't plan on buying more butterflies though.. that one is Katelyn's special ornament... :)

^ after Christmas is when I pick up all the wrapping paper, Christmas cards, ornaments, bows and ribbon for next year. Chris thinks its stupid, but I tried to explain that its for next year and you don't have to pay $5 for a roll of wrapping paper because you'll already HAVE wrapping paper. I just get so excited after Christmas when everything is 50%-90% off.

Like why wouldn't you buy wrapping paper a year in advance at those savings?:lol:

Yes, I do this too - but I did throw away all my paper when I left Canada, at x$ per sq foot, I figured it was cheaper to pack something else in my wrapper holder !

I had some paper I bought as far back as like 10 years ago when I got some huge great deal on it
