I was just checking the weather in Seattle and it looks like tomorrow is the one day where there isn't supposed to be a chance of precipitation... of course that could change

we were planning on going to Hollywood, Olvera St and maybe the Universal City walk for Christmas Eve but it looks like it is going to be raining Christmas Eve and Christmas day :P

I think I have decided that I am going to make these to give as gifts to the adults.. yesterday hubby and I kind of decided that we were going to get the adults a box of chocolate covered cherries because they were only 88 cents a box at Rite-Aid but I was thinking that is a bit too impersonal...

Easy_OREO_Truffles.jpg

Easy OREO Truffles

1 pkg. (1 lb. 2 oz.) OREO Cookies, finely crushed, divided

1 pkg. (8 oz.) PHILADELPHIA Cream Cheese, softened

2 pkg. (8 squares each) BAKER'S Semi-Sweet Chocolate, melted

Make It

MIX 3 cups of the cookie crumbs and the cream cheese until well blended. Shape into 42 (1-inch) balls.

DIP balls in melted chocolate; place on waxed paper-covered baking sheet. (Any leftover melted chocolate can be stored in tightly covered container at room temperature and saved for another use.) Sprinkle with remaining cookie crumbs.

REFRIGERATE 1 hour or until firm. Store any leftover truffles in tightly covered container in refrigerator.

Kraft Kitchens Tips

How to Easily Dip Truffles

To easily coat truffles with the melted chocolate, add truffles, in batches, to bowl of melted chocolate. Then use two forks to roll truffles in chocolate until evenly coated. Remove the truffles with forks and allow excess chocolate to drip back into bowl before placing truffles on prepared baking sheet.

Special Extra

Sprinkle truffles with colored sugar or sprinkles in addition to or in place of the cookie crumbs.

How to Soften Cream Cheese

Place completely unwrapped package of cream cheese in microwaveable bowl. Microwave on HIGH 10 sec. or just until softened. Add 15 sec. for each additional package of cream cheese.

:star: It has been fun reading through this thread guys! There are so many festive pics. Well, two days ago, I found out there is a good chance my hubby will be driving out to see the kids and I for Christmas. If he is coming, he is supposed to leave tomorrow. He will drive 2000 miles to come here. I really hope he makes it.

Has he left yet? [insert excited smiley here]

Nope, I talked to him yesterday and he said there was a hold up, but that he should be leaving today or tomorrow. It's our son's first Christmas, so I hope he does get here in time! It's been over 3 months since we saw him after Zach was born. (Zach is 4 months old already.)The countdown continues! Only a few more nights til Christmas and hopefully only a few more until my hubby gets here too!

Ooh! These look easy and yummy!

I'm going to attempt these tonight. I will tell you how they turn out! Thanks for the recipe!

"...My hair's mostly wind,

My eyes filled with grit

My skin's white then brown

My lips chapped and split

I've lain on the prairie and heard grasses sigh

I've stared at the vast open bowl of the sky

I've seen all the castles and faces in clouds

My home is the prairie and for that I am proud…

If You're not from the Prairie, you can't know my soul

You don't know our blizzards; you've not fought our cold

You can't know my mind, nor ever my heart

Unless deep within you there's somehow a part…

A part of these things that I've said that I know,

The wind, sky and earth, the storms and the snow.

Best say that you have - and then we'll be one,

For we will have shared that same blazing sun." - David Bouchard

Olvera Street is a great spot. Just South from it is the toy district, and then if you go north you can go to Phillipes (best roast beef sandwich on the west coast). Or there is a great Mexican Restaurant there on Olvera street. Now I want to go there

Three more days!

To those who will be spending Christmas for the first time as husband and wife - congratulations!

I just received my corrected two year Green Card today. I was approved November 12th, got the card Nov. 24th, but there was an error, and got the corrected one today. Yay!

Melly Christmas!
