I will be sending my N-400 next week, Do I need to submit the IRS transcripts. I read the checklist and nothing about sending the IRS documents. The checklist states send the transcript only if somebody is out of USA for 6 months or more. I appreciate your input. I have been filing my tax and have no problem to send them if needed.

I sent in copies of my tax returns just to make them see that I was filing with my wife. They have not mentioned about bring anything to the interview. But as always better safe than sorry with the USCIS, I will carry my transcripts with me when I go to the interview. You can never tell what the IO will want or need as proof. If you have them send them in. Anything to prove that your marriage is not a sham.

You don't have to send them. If they want to see them, they will ask you to bring them the day of the interview.

It is free service from IRS.

So I asked it, and brought with me for Interview.

Interview officer didn't ask for it, but you better have it just in case.

My case was based on 5-year permanent residency, so it is not required, but if they ask for it, you better have it with you at the interview.

I have the five years transcript already. I am just wondering why send them if they are not required in this part of the process. I could take them with me when the interview scheduled. My point is, sending documents that is/are not required will make the person who will process my file spend more time going through documents that is not required.

You are correct as in you do not have to send them in. But what your trying to do is show the IO that your marriage is truly not a sham. Your establishing a timeline. It's your call so. =)

It's up to you.

Most of cases I found is that interview officer may not look at the case until interview time comes.

Having tax transcripts will show that you paid the tax on time without any unpaid tax in file.

So it may prove that you are good moral character, who pay their due on time.

It is NOT required for 5 year residency condition, but it may be another proof that you are good citizen of society. :innocent:

Therefore it is really up to you whether you want to send it along with application.
