I just recently returned from Thailand for Holiday, I met an exceptional Thai Girl, we really bonded & we spent abot 7 wonderful days together!!

I know spending 7 days together is not enough to truely know your in love, I'm 36 years old & have never been married, I've travelled to numerous countries, but

I truely think this Girl is the one for me, I met her this month (November, 2008)

I don't really know if I can pull this off by myself (Paperwork/Documentation) for K-1 Visa

Don't get me wrong, I'm visiting my Thai Girfriend in Februaruy of 2009 & I'm to meet her family in (Isan)

I sponsor her now & talk to her on the computer, thru (Skype) & send her e-mail's, I believe this is vital, for record keeping for her interview (Documentation)

Should I hire a Lawyer in the U.S. represent me or should I wait for my next Trip to Thailand in 60 Days from now?

Should I bring any paperwork with me, when I visit in the next few months, that would be benificial for the two of us?

Just lost right now, would appreciate some help?

Better to wait and meet her family first....just me.My husband and i didn't have a lawyer with k1 and now AOS green card processing...but if you feel its too much for you and her then better get a lawyer just to be in the safe side..good luck and congrats. :star:

The guides in this community are fantastic. If you follow them, there really isn't a need to hire an attorney. The rules for the K1 are that you have met your fiance in the last 2 years. Which, you have obviously done. By visiting her in February, it will add for proof of a continuing relationship. Good luck!

most dont need lawyer really, just follow the steps and instructions, basically just take some time get to know but during all this keep your evidences if you decide to try for the visa in the near future. The longer you talk the more you can learn each other, if your set on making that decision now take the forms with you so she can sign for when you return

K1 is for fiancees, so unless you've proposed and she's accepted, you should not apply. One of the required documents in the original application is a letter of intent to marry that both you and her will need to submit. I encourage you to wait until you've proposed and are certain before applying. There's significant fees involved, significant financial information that will be shared along the way, and then there's the whole lying to the government is a big no-no aspect.

If this is the right path for you, you shouldn't need a lawyer to apply.
