Does I-134 Affidavit of Support include 18-year-old daughter?

I read the info on the government immigration web site, naturally my situation falls through the bureaucratic cracks ....

My fiancee has a son, 7, and a daughter, 17. I am worried about passing the I-134 Affidavit of Support requirements, because my sole income is pension. No problem to pass the 125% threshold for 3 people, but I fall just short for 4.

1. The daughter will be 18 by the time of the embassy interview. Does that mean she can still come with her mom, or will she be ineligible, classified as an adult? If she is allowed to come, will she be considered as part of the I-134 qualifying? I read somewhere that the poverty threshold only includes those children under 18.

2. How about if I adopt the son, 7? Will that mean he is not included in the calculations for the I-134?

Will I have to start looking for a ... ugh ... job?

The 18 year old can still come on a K2 visa and would count in the household of 4. You COULD use three dollars in liquid assets to offset one dollar of income shortfall, or get a job.
