Hello,

Thanks to all that post here for us new to the works.

My fiance has a 4 year old son. I had a lawyer prepare and submit our K1 application. We did submit her son's info with the documentation.

I am wondering if any of you can shed light on things we should prepare for in regards to her son and the K1 process?

The son will have an opportunity to apply for a K2 visa when the case gets to the Consulate.

AS long as your son is named on the initial application he can get a K-2 visa at the time your wife gets her K-1 visa...he will have to pay the approriate appointment fees and do the medical exams but will not have to do the lab work...However, if the son is not planning on travelling with the mom, you will have 1 year from issuance of the K-1 visa to do a join to follow...hope this helps.

AOS -K2 Based for 8 year old daughter...wife already has green card in hand and daughter was brought over via join to follow - K1.
