BUCHAREST, 6/3 - Police detained 50 people on Saturday when anti-gay protestors tried to break up a gay rights march in Bucharest, Romania

Some 500 gay marched through downtown Bucharest to press a call on the Romanian government to approve the legalization of same-sex marriages. But members of an anti-gay group disrupted the parade and clashed with the activists when they arrived at a square in the center of the city.

One officer was also injured when police took measures to stop the clash, said the report.

Some political parties and the Romanian Orthodox Church, to which more than 80 percent of Romania`s 22 million belong, have said they opposed any parade organized by gay activists.

However, the municipal authorities in Bucharest earlier approved Saturday`s march despite the opposition.

Romania decriminalized homosexuality in 2001, but discrimination is still prevalent in the country, and many gays do not acknowledge their sexual orientation.

But when we turn to the Hebrew literature, we do not find such jokes about the donkey. Rather the animal is known for its strength and its loyalty to its master (Genesis 49:14; Numbers 22:30).
