Hi,

I checked the NVC automated system and entered my NVC case number.

I got the message that "your case was entered into the NVC computer system on May 23, 2006. Please allow 6-8 weeks for your beneficiary to receive the instructions."

I'm thinking that the next step after NVC case number assignment is that I'll (petitioner) receive a copy of DS-3032 and AOS bill. If this is correct, would I hear that in the automated response from NVC? When would I expect that to happen from NVC?

Thanks a lot in advance.

You're talking about the CR-1 application, right?

You'll get a copy of the DS-3032 and AOS bill. The beneficiary will also get a copy of the DS3032. If she doesn't, then you'll have to send her a copy because she needs to sign it.

For K-3, you will hear from the consulate. The beneficiary will get packet 3 from them. Your case will not stay long at NVC.

For an idea of how long things take, take a look at my signature.

Good luck!

Cygnet --- Once she signs DS3032, shold I ask her to mail me and then can I mail that to NVC? Or NVC wants her signed DS3032 mailed directly from her to the NVC?

Please let me know.

I don't think it matters to NVC whether she mails it or you mail it for her. I (the beneficiary) mailed it because I'm just up in Canada (takes only a few days for them to receive it). I don't know how long it would take for her to mail letters from India.

Is it possible for her to get the computer-generated version of the DS3032? If she can, it would be better for her to maybe fill it out, sign it and then mail it to you right away (like, tomorrow maybe?). You don't even have to wait for NVC to send you the form. I'm assuming you will be the designated agent for your case. Once you get the form from NVC, just mail in the signed DS3032 from your spouse.

Hope that helps...

She can get an access to form on her PC. As I'm looking at the form, it requires to put the barcode sticker of your case number. I've a case number but I don't have a sticker. So that means do I have to wait until atleast she gets DS3032 in India?

If I ask her to fill out the form (without barcode), sign it and mail it to me tomorrow, then I'll have a form without the barcode sticker. Would NVC accept this?

Thanks again.....

See the link in my sig about how to generate barcodes and such. it's the link that says something about aussiewench's NVC or something like that. however, make absolutely sure that you're comfy with these if you choose to use them. If you're not comfy, then you should wait it out for the real documents to arrive. These timesavers are, of course, not approved by the NVC, and are used at your own risk.

Regarding waiting for the info to arrive, I was a day before you... got my case number 22 May, and I still haven't received anything either, so your wait isn't abnormal, it seems. ttyl,

I got my case number on May 26th. Nothing yet for me either.

I'll be stalking both of you now...

According to the NVC hotline, my DS-3032 and AoS Bill were generated 29 May. So you two probably both have yours on the way too :) If you're taking any of the shortcuts (like the email), you can probably start :) ttyl,

I just called and they haven't generated our DS-3032 and AOS Bill yet. I'm half-tempted to send them anyway.

I would not do that because they will not be ready for them and would quite possibly send them back, apparently that has been known
