i love san antonio! i might lose my job (ike-related) and we are looking all over the state and country for new jobs. so also SA! being on here again makes me want to get out all my files and folders. So many papers and pictures and NOA's and other notices. It was hard, but looking back it really wasnt long and kinda romantic...

It is hard, but it's been worth every minute of misery that being apart causes! I went through a horrible first marriage and wasn't expecting to find anyone but I know now that I had to go through the bad to get to the good! Patrick is the most wonderful, amazing man I've ever known and I can't wait to start my life here in the States with him!! I'm hoping that it will go pretty fast now and before I know it he will be here to stay! I've got things to concentrate on to keep myself busy...we bought a do-it-yourself kit of wedding invitations while he was here so I can start getting the wording for those figured out and get our invitation list done too. It'll mostly be my family and some of our friends and even some friends from NL so I can't wait to be able to send them out!!!

I am a school secretary at a middle school. My husband is an art teacher at the high school. Ike wiped out the other middle school so they are now cramped in with us.. we will be together from now on, meaning they need to cut half the office staff. This is my first year so im in trouble. Plus maybe it isnt so bad to move now, Galveston really isnt what it was and it looks like its going to take a long time before things are at a normal rate. Neither of us have ties here.

I am glad you found your man. It can happen any moment any time for anyone. Life's great! I was leading my simple single life in London and all of a sudden i am ina visa process with a texan! Texas of all places! I think its funny there are so many Texans on this subforum! And texans-to-be!

Hmmm, have you tried looking at any job search sites for San Antonio? If you would like the links to a couple, just let me know and I can pm them to you. With all the school districts here in San Antonio, I wouldn't be surprised to find some job openings for both you and your husband!

I've only seen pics of the aftermath of Ike....I can't imagine living through it though!!! That must have been a rough time for you!

hehe....yep, I'm the same way....I was just ending my marriage when Pat and I met and at first I said I wanted nothing more than to be friends....that didn't last long..lol!! He's such a wonderful guy that I know he was destined to come into my life at that exact time....he's my soulmate! I can't wait to be where you are now...married and with him here!!!

Well, we got a bit of good news today.....USCIS cashed our Money Order yesterday! I guess that means they have us in the system...but I've still not received an email NOA1....hopefully the hardcopy will come soon!

ooh thats great! hey its a step! all is good here. at work, taking a 5 mins break. its busy in the office with some baaaaaaaaaaaaaad kids! BUT today andother truck load of donations. People from all over the country have been so nice!

Liz, there should be a number on the back of your check, that is your Case number.

If you type that on the US Gov. site, you probably will see your NOA1 date come up

Ams lowly doing ok here, fell of my bike last week in the bad weather and got pretty hurt.

Which made my SO say that he would be glad when I didn't have to get on my bike again.

Sigh, didn't dare tell him it might turn out I may be even more dangerous in a car

I have been keeping an eye on Igor's list, but that one is driving me absolutely crazy, going up and down.

So I am taking that with a grain of salt.

Hi Peet!! Sorry to hear about your bike accident!! I'm glad your doing better though!! Be careful please....I've heard it has been pretty bad weather for a while there now!!

We didn't send a check...we used a Money Order...so i won't recieve it back in order to get the number off of it. I'm just hoping to get the hardcopy soon so I can get the number from there!!

I got an interview date for my K-3 in Caracas

I am hoping to swap it for a CR-1 interview

and i am at the stage i need to mail in AOS & IV package to NVC
