Haha well we should all be used to the government taking a while by now. =] I mean, it did take 8 months for us start to finish just to get Johnny over here. When did you send your paperwork off?

LOL..yeah..the 10th...I'm still shocked about that. I'm getting used to it though...hehe! I have nieces in their late 20's and early 30's so I'm sure I'll have more before too long..hehe! And thanks, Lindsey!

Congrats Liz, that is great!

Hey guys, I think I screwed up big time here.

I was just reading some stuff and found out you can only apply for your SS number after two weeks of entry and before the two weeks before your 90 days are over.

Than it said, you can apply when you get your EAD, that is your permission to work, right?

Well, we didn't apply for that, since I don't have a drivers license and I would like to go do some courses first.

And since my son was only 14 and he needs to concentrate on school, , not for him either...

Does this really mean we have to wait to get a SSN until we have our green cards?

Because than I am running into a lot of problems I never realized I would have and my husband doesn't really believe in. But even to get a fun course like photography, they ask for your SSN.

Let alone our plans to have me start driving lessons.

Guess this is all my own fault for not handling this myself.

Hmmm, you know I'm not sure if you have to wait or not! I think the best thing to do would be to call the Social Security office near you and ask them. They should have a listing and number for your local office....if not then there is always the toll free number. I called it several times and they were very helpful! Sorry I couldn't help more!
