We went to Eftling last time I was there...had a blast even though it poured rain off and on!. Riding a roller coaster in the pouring rain puts a whole NEW level of fear in ya. lol. Really enjoyed John and his niece singing the "Rumpelstilskin" song in dutch throughout the day, lol. I almost learned it myself!

We also went to Mauderdam (I may have slaughtered that, lol). It is a really cool park of a minature Holland. The buildings and the airport were VERY impressive. In fact, I think I found my luggage that got lost...hahahaha, ok...the TEENY versions if them. But we had a great time there!

We went when it was pouring down rain too! The Pegasus ride is by far the scariest coaster ever! I think Johnny said they tore it down though.

We thought about visiting miniature Holland but never got around to it.

The Efteling is just 20 minutes away from where I live! :-) the best time of the year to go and visit it is late April or May, the park is then full with tuilps!! it looks amazing. My favorite cities in NL are: 'S-Hertogenbosch (of course) Maastricht, Heusden, Arnhem & Utrecht

I checked today if I had received anything from the consulate... nothing yet, can anyone tell me how much time does it take to get the interview invitation once you sent the papers to the consulate?

@ Liz, No I live at the south coast. Near Den Haag.

@ Wyld Blu, Madurodam in Scheveningen? It's really nice there, If Bill ever comes to Holland Ill bring him there.

Efteling is really nice, I actually went there a few months ago. <3 Fairytales.

@ Adje, check out our timelines, I got mine a few days later. But it might be stuck due to certain things. I see on your timeline you've been waiting for longer then 3 weeks. Time to email/call the consulate on what's causing the delay. ImmigrantVisasAms@state.gov. I sended an email to them once, I did that in English but they can speak proper Dutch, so don't be nervous ^^

Um, I've learned that going by others timelines is pointless. It took almost a month for us to get our interview date....... Actually it may have been right at a month or longer

Yeah, looking back at the calendar it took them right at a month to get our interview date to us... We had to wait on his American police report though since he lived here for seven years.

Thank you so much for your answers! I have checked the timelines and I think I will get some news then between today and wednesday next week (I hope)

I do not have a vaccin history, will this be a big problem? should I go to the GGD or my huisarts and ask for basic shots? as I grew up in Mexico I do not have these records and when I moved here to NL I was never asked for them... any suggestions?

Pat didn't have his vaccination record either, he waited though until he went for his medical and got the shots he needed there......didn't cost him too much extra if I remember right...I'll ask him when I talk to him later.... :star:

Liz, Thanks so much! I really appreciate you asking Pat, I was trying to make an app with my doctor or the GGD and they can help me but I have to wait like 2 weeks! this is starting to stress me a lot! getting all the papers ready to leave such as the tax office, sell my furniture, end health insurance, transfer pension funds, cancel telephone...really I feel Im loosing it.

I just got a telephone call fromt he consulate asking me if Im planning on goign to the US again before the end of the year and yes I have plans to go to San Antonio for thanksgiving, and I come back 1st Dec and then they told me this was going to delay my interview since they wont be able to give me a date in december!! :crying: this is going to change my plans... I was planning to take a month to travel around before going to the US... I might be worrying a bit too much, its just that I feel very nervous and have to deal with so much.....

Wow! I wonder why they are so backed up in December! I hope they can either squeeze you in or give you a very early January date!! So your coming to San Antonio, huh??? We should try to meet up, I'm off work for Thanksgiving and the weekend after...lol!

Hey all, hope everyone is ok.

Jack and I got married last week, it was small but great. Everything happened in the Dobbinshouse in Gettysburg.

My parents and a sis were able to attend :star:

And now... we are looking at the AOS papers.

Suddenly realized we don't have much time left. 28 days

The costs shocked us. Is this again so expensive?

We need the travel permission for my son also, so he can visit his Dad in Europe, but that is another 340 dollars.

Thought I read somewhere that was for free when you send that in with the rest?

Yikes, I really thought it would get easier now, but realize once again I need you guys to help a bit

Btw, sorry for not responding much here, my parents are over for a visit and I don't have much pc time.

Peet, yes AOS is that expensive; and it's ridiculous. I think it's what? $1010 or something? Johnny and I have figured that by the time this is over with, getting him over here will cost probably close to three thousand dollars as I'm sure it has for most of you as well.

I'm not sure about the travelers permission thing and whether or not it's free if you send it all together so I can't be of much help there. =/

Congrats on your wedding by the way! I'm sure you are happy to be finally married and to move on to the next step in the seemingly endless visa process.

 Congrats Peet!!! I wish you and Jack and your son all the happiness in the world!!!

I know that the $1010 for AOS does include filing for EAD and AP.....what I'm not sure on however is if they charge you extra for a second AP (the one for your son).....I'll see if I can find out and let you know!

Peet - I asked around and found out that it looks like doing AOS for you and your son will be around $1610.00. $1010 for your AOS, EAD and AP and $600 for your son's. Like your AOS the $600 includes the biometrics and AP. Now this is for children 14 and younger......if I remember right, your son is 14 now right? If so then you should still be able to file it at the $600 fee.

Hugs, Liz
