Hey, I'm still around y'all, so tick another one from The Hague (Scheveningen is really The Hague anyway!:D).

Congrats to everyone getting along BTW and sorry to hear some of you having problems. But chin up, it will all get there eventually. Time does fly by though and when you get home, you'll look back at this and laugh at how stupid it all was just to be together.

Right now, I missed my police academy due to the visa taking so long to send to my house, so am part-timing as a 911 dispatcher until I can either get a better paying job or go to the academy in September. But the work situation where I live is extremely dire, we live in a community with only 2500 people, so there are only a few jobs and I got lucky I snapped one up already. I am an hour and 15 drive from Tulsa, but there is nothing more than minimum wage there right now, so it's not worth the cost of the commute each way...fingers crossed the economy will pick up soon as I want to get back into flight school to get my US licenses!

Take care everyone, I'll pop back soon (am on night shift right now)

Hey Paul, Good to hear from you! Really to bad you missed that chance to go to the academy! Hopefully the next time! Guess you are so happy to be home! Settled in american life?!

How is your work? Do you like it? What shifts do you work?

Peet, i am so sorry to hear about your dog!

Well, wish everyone a good week!

The week isn't too bad here, weather is really nice today and I have my girl back home.

What is going on Liz?

Pat was just telling me last night it's supposed to be sunny and warm there this week! He's even planning to work on his tan..lol!

I think I've got a sinus infection...have pain in the sinuses around my eyes and a sore throat. It'll go away soon though I'm sure.

Awwww.....how is she doing, Peet???

Yikes Blu, that is horrible.

Maybe they are too busy with other visa types?

Because it is summer maybe and a lot of people are visiting since the dollar is cheaper than the euro now?

Really can't imagine any other reason for A'dam to be overloaded.

I mean, the k-1 filers can't be more than 8 to 10?

Hope you feel better soon Liz.

My ex had those infections a lot, him it helped a lot to start on multi vitamins, year round.

Paquita is fine now, the lump is removed and she is back home, still a bit shaken and on painkillers and stuff for a while, but back .

Liz, that is too bad that you aren't feeling well! And that shortly after they checked you!

Peet, glad your dog is doing ok!

Wyld Blu, what a pain... I hope that they receive your case soon in Amsterdam and can work at it too.

I guess Peet is right about summertime... tourist visa, and well maybe people like to study in September?

And well USCIS was very busy with Work visa for a long time...so maybe that is now a problem in our own country? Have no idea but what a pain!

I don't understand USCIS, NVC, consulates anyway!

Take care and i am still hoping to get NOA2 soon! I can't wait, and who knows maybe my husband got it in his mailbox but he isn't home yet... couple more days! But its more hoping for that than really believing!

Don't want to give you any false hope, but do not always believe everything they tell you. It has been a while when I had my interview in Amsterdam (May 2008). When our I-130 got approved by the NVC we called them a few times to get information about the interview and got the same story. Finally in April they told me that Amsterdam was full in May so I probably would get an interview date in June. My husband called the same day and they told him that my interview was scheduled for May...... two complete different stories on the same day, but I'm glad that the operator my husband talked to was right!

Don't give up, it's worth the wait!

Hello Dutch/American !!!!!!

I don't know if there is anyone on this thread that remembers us-but just dropping by to say Mark got his greencard ( 10 year) yesterday!

We filed K-1 in March 2006 and it reeally doesn't seem that long ago-things really do move fast once the K-1 petition is approved.

To everyone out there ( esp the NL/USA ppl) Good luck and best wishes on a speedy immigration process.

IK HOU VAN JOU, MARK

.png

Take a large, almost round, rotating sphere about 8000 miles in diameter, surround it with a murky, viscous atmosphere of gases mixed with water vapor, tilt its axis so it wobbles back and forth with respect to a source of heat and light, freeze it at both ends and roast it in the middle, cover most of its surface with liquid that constantly feeds vapor into the atmosphere as the sphere tosses billions of gallons up and down to the rhythmic pulling of a captive satellite and the sun. Then try to predict the conditions of that atmosphere over a small area within a 5 mile radius for a period of one to five days in advance!

Congratulations!! Good to hear your journey is over (till citizenship?). It will be my turn in 8 months to apply for the 10 your greencard. Don't look forward having to mess with paperwork again....
