LOL, I knew it would make you happy :jest:

well, I called the consulate, they are so nice there :)

Answered the questions I had, in Dutch, which was even better since this was about legal stuff concerning my son.

As I expected, I need to bring a letter of consent from my ex in which he gives permission to me to take my son with me.

I have an appointment now with the notary for the next week, so my checklist is going back to the consulate today.

Hopefully you'll get your interview date soon after!

Yep...and Pat was VERY relieved when I told him this morning..lol!

I've heard nothing but good things about the people at the consulate there! I'm glad they were able to help you and were so nice about it!!!

Will you have much trouble getting the letter?

Hugs, Liz

Hi everyone :)

Im new to this thread, but Me and Amy are a dutch/american couple too

LizandPat invited me to stop by

Ill have to read back a bit to find out what you guess plot over here, but good to find y'all here

OT. I have actually had some less exciting experiences with that consulate as well... not that the man was really mean, he just came across bureaucratic and heartless. But thats not the people in the room, when you step in to the right. (where the important visas get handled)

He works at the windows straight ahead when you step in, where the tourist and student visas get processed.

But most people there, and especially those that helped me with this visa, were amazing. A very well dressed bald consul with very modern glasses, who was so nice and interested in us. and a smart and very kind black lady that was totally on her a-game. I was the first to walk in, and she knew me by name :) and immediately walked off to grab my file :D

Welcome Mark and congratulations on your interview going so well.

Thanks for the warning about the guy, good to know that not all people there are like him :)

So now you are waiting for your visa to arrive?

Liz, the letter won't be a problem, my ex is very helpful and cooperative.

I have an appointment for next Friday to sign the letter at the notary.

He already sent me a copy of his passport by mail.
