Hey Liz, those are pretty, didn't know they were typical for Texas?

I recall having them in bouquets over here.

Wow Jeanine, that is going fast.

Can imagine getting nervous a bit, I would be also.

But you will be fine :D

No movement here, I wish.

Would be nice to have something to show for finally.

Hi Peet...yep, those are the state flower for Texas... :)

Jeanine - That's awesome...it's going so quickly now!!! I'm sure everything will turn out great for you!!

Nothing here either...although I don't expect anything on ours for another month or two.

Hugs, Liz

Hi all...have a quick question...I know that Tulips are the most well known flowers from the Netherlands but are there any others?

Thanks!

LOL, yep,

There are many more, the Netherlands is know for its flower export and design is what you can call it I guess.

http://www.floraholland.com/en/AboutFloraH...es/default.aspx

As a country the Netherlands designs and grows the most new cutting flowers.

But if you would ask me if there are any special flowers that certain places are known for, I honestly wouldn't know.

At the same time, I am so used to be able to buy every possible flower at every street corner, I was rather disappointed when we visited some nurseries in the US.

Ahhh, glad you had a good time Marieke, too bad about your job though.

What does a hurricane have to do with it?

If you ask me they could speed it up a bit more, it is frustrating to see CSC approving so much faster.

But I guess I shouldn't complain eh?

Let me see, I am very spoiled if it comes to flowers, my Dad used to work in them and we got used to fresh flowers on our tables.

Several family members still work in the flower business.

Really love the fragrance of white Fresia's. And they are beautiful to look at.

But last winter Jack bought me an orchid, a white phalenopsis it is called I think and I am so proud that I got it back in bloom again.

It has 5 flowers now, it is very pretty.

Hurricane Ike destroyed 3 schools, made many many people evacuate and not come back (start over somewhere else or house is destroyed). we ended up losing 25% of our kids. losing 3 schools and 25% of kids means is we need less teachers and staff. 220 have been fired. its hard but we understand it had to happen. me being the last in...

:bonk:

Ah, I understand Marieke.

It sucks, but it is understandable.

Glad Thomas doesn't have to worry though. And no, the beach doesn't sound that bad for a while.

Thanks Liz, am really happy with that picture, it is one of the few we have of us together.

My fault, since I hate having my picture taken.

Am getting really frustrated here, our expected NOA2 went from May back to June :crying:

That is the wrong way :o
