Sorry for the double post, but if we're showing photos I am an amateur photographer just starting out with a D-SLR, so images aren't great quality:

My yards resident lizard, I sunbathe with him when it's nice weather. Hope to see him back this year.

The American Memorial at Bastogne, Belgium. This is the view from the crypt on to the monument. Very moving.

This is a rotating wall cloud that became a tornado about 2 minutes after this, about 1.5 miles away from us. This is the biggest one I have seen so far, it was raining heavily so it's a bad image and I've doctored it slightly to show cloud contrast better. No one was hurt by it, we live very remote.

my works computer wont show me pics :( i'll have to wait till i get home and get on my mac. Tornadoes.. that would scare me, they are amzing to watch ... on tv!

Just keeping everyone up-to-date!

We got our I-130 approval letter today! it was dated the 27th

We only got one little letter saying it was approved and for the forms they gave us an address through the US consulate website to download everything from.

Is this normal?lol either way if it weren't for this site and others like it I would be COMPLETELY lost!

Only thing we're waiting on now is my mothers and step-fathers tax info woohoo

Paul - I think the laid back way of Dutch people is one of the things that drew me to Patrick so fast. He was so open and honest....nothing like most other men I've known!

Oh...and love the pic of your sunbathing buddy...lol! We have tons of lizards like that....and I can always tell when one is around, without even seeing it.....I HEAR my daughter! LOL! She hates them and will start hollering for me when she comes upon one...hehehehe!

I love taking pictures too....I'll see if I can find some of mine and put on here later. I have a tendency of taking a bunch of pictures of my daughter but I'll try to find something a bit different...lol!

I can't wait to travel with Pat and Jessie. Most of the places Paul mentioned are one's we want to see too. I also want to go to the Grand Canyon, drive through the Rockies and up north into Canada. As well as visit both coasts!!

Peet - I look at Igor's list probably once a day at least. We jumped from 430 to 418 yesterday! I know it's not that accurate but it sure feels good to see that!!

Lainie - Congrats on your approval!!! Sorry I can't answer your question either but I bet you can find someone on here that can! And thanks for keeping us update on you!!

HEYYY EVERYBODY!!!

IM OVEREXCITED! Checked our status online (was never able to see it, always got an error) but now it says we are APPROVED!! They sent the notice to us on February 25,2009!!!!

I still cant believe it!!! I had to share the news, Im at work but I def can't focus haha!

Hoping all of urs are coming soon too! Keep the hopes up!

Congratulations!!!! It is a wonderful feeling, isn't it?

Yeah its def a special feeling, but it still doesnt really hit me..so unbelievable!

I see you went through almost the whole process. We dont have the real letter yet but what can we do already now?

Now you need to get your packet 3 & 4 together and go for an interview, yes? Tobe suggests that you sell things you know you aren't going to bring with you. Spend time with your friends and family. If there are things that you like, for example a special kind of peanut butter or toothpaste, buy a good bit and ship it ahead. Some things are very different here. Tobe says the coffee and peanut butter are bad here. He also thinks all the toothpastes are way too sweet. You will have to pay a LOT of money to get them sent over. We had a place online that we would order from, but they really screwed us last time, and don't seem interested in fixing it, so now we aren't sure just what we will do.

He also says to keep in mind that you will need to bring a universal plug for any electrical equipment, since our electrical system is different. Also, get used to asking for a doggie bag when you eat out. Apparently you don't do that in Holland, but the portions are so big here, that you will have to!

We got an email from the USCIS yesterday informing us that our case has been moved to the CSC from VSC. I am hoping that is some progress!!

well, this is something we don't have in the Netherlands :innocent:

3161165180_4e287af031_b.jpg

and it is one of the differences that I love exploring

That is not far at all from where I work! :)

I love Philadelphia. There is so much to do. Lots to take pictures of.

If you are interested in meeting up with another USA/Dutch couple, let me know when you will be visiting DC or NYC!!

Mine has been riddled with snow, currently piling up outside. I will take a pic in the morning. They have actually already called to notify that schools are closed tomorrow.

I *DID* get some good grocery shopping done today before the snow got going. I LOVE my coupons!!

My web server (I do freelance web and graphic development) got attacked by russian spammers, sending out 50,000 emails an hour from my IP address, so I've had a busy weekend fixing that! Hacked off is the mood, grr. But, happy Monday everyone LOL.

Ooh, I'm envious of such good snowfall. We had 2 inches here in England and "got snowed in". It was a pretty embarassing fiasco for the country, but a well needed occurence as children as old as ten had never seen snow like that before! I love snow!
