Anyone know when they ask for birthcertificate plus copy a handmade copy is good enough? I mean just self printed. Or do I need to order more? If thats even possible.

Is the VOG form only valid for a specific period? We are waiting for the NOA2 and I'm already preparing everything we need, so I'm wondering If I can already get the VOG or that I should wait a bit longer..

I don't know how long they are valid, but I know it's supposed to be "recent" (whatever that means). Our lawyer told us we could order ours now. We got our noa2 on November 16. So he has us wait until the noa2.

My husband had his appointment today to order it actually and they said he could have it in 1.5 weeks. The NVC process usually takes from 2.5-4 months and the common wait times between case complete at the NVC and the interview date are between 28 and 63 days. It depends on where they are in the scheduling cycle when you get your approval. (I've researched these times specifically for Dutch visa applications in the timelines here on VJ... A LOT!)

So essentially, I would wait until noa2. You have plenty of time and you don't want to risk giving them a document they think is out of date and losing time that way.

I was approved last thursday !! But since today I am in sudden Administrative process, anyone else ha dbeen in their? Whats the usual time it took? I try to google, but I guess it does not happend so much in the Netherlands.

don't worry. If the kept your passport it pretty much means where busy getting the visa in your passport and will send it to you when where done.

You just need to ask for a VOG / certificate of conduct at your local municipality? I received mine within a week. I'm not sure if packet 3 is for all immigrant visas.

Awesome! Yeah I know how that is lol. It took a year for me before I got my GC and EAD in 67 days. Staying positive is good! I'm doing good myself I have been the US for 2 and half years now, We are going to look into the " I-751'' soon. I have to fill it in april-may 2017 to remove the conditions on the GC and apply for a 10 year card. That is going to be fun

Yes this process is so frustrating I thought the K1 process was difficult but this is 100x worse.. Do you still like being here? I saw you're living in Alabama, my husband and me recently moved from South Carolina to Oregon and we drove trough Alabama on our way 'home'.

^ Haha well to be honest the k1 was worse since you are away from each other. AOS is easy..you are together and you just have to wait . Yes, I love it every day here! I can't get enough of the beautiful weather, mountains. We are saving for our own house and we don't want to stay in the city we are right now. We might end up going to a different state..We are looking at Tennessee or Georgia. We both love the mountains so that is great . I feel at home here and every day I get more excited for that day to come when we can move to our own place!

How do you like it here so far, can you get use to living here? I see you only been here for a couple months.

Haha yes true.. I was graduating from university during the K1 proces so I was super busy, and now it's just frustrating because since I got here everything went wrong, from the social security card application to documents that got lost in the mail. And I have a pending job offer but I have to be patient hahaha..

Wow so you have some big plans, buying a house.. maybe moving to a different state. Yes I really like it here.. We lived on an Air force base in SC from May-September, and now we're living in an apartment in the city, but we're also saving to buy a house, so it's getting better and better. I love Oregon, even though it rains a lot, but it's so beautiful! How did you meet people/got a social life, when you moved here?
