So, in Amsterdam, my husband got his medical and received his K1 visa, back in Dec.

Fast forward to Friday, when we received and RFE saying the USCIS has not received his DS-2053, DS-3024 or his DS-3026. He also went to a civil surgeon here to get the proper paperwork sent in. My question is HOW could he even receive his K1 if they didn't have all that in the first place? It was required before his consulate interview!

We called the USCIS and they told us to contact the consulate in Amsterdam to see if they could fax or email us the missing paperwork, and/or the doctor if they won't. I am concerned about the time frame it will take the consulate or doctor as we only have until Nov 14th to respond. I am also concerned that they won't send it for some reason.

Any ideas, suggestions or words of encouragement???

Thanks,

-Blu-

How was he able to get the RFE in the first place if he is living in America with you now? Did it come from USCIS here where he sent his AOS? That is beyond strange that you are just now getting an RFE for paperwork that should have been looked over and accepted before he even received his fiance visa! Honestly, I don't know of this ever happening to anyone else so I can't really give you advice on the situation at hand. All I can say is that since this is obviously a mistake on Amsterdam's part, it would be in their best interest to send you the missing paperwork right away. Maybe it would benefit you to contact both the doctor and the consulate, one is bound to reply faster than the other and it certainly will not hurt you to have two different sources with the same information.

Good luck!! I'd say you are fine on time as long as you do it now and as long as you can have the papers faxed, e-mailed, or even expedited to you. This is a very strange occurrence indeed.

We faxed the consulate in Amsterdam the RFE with a request for them to send us the paperwork. They faxed it back, asking John to call them right away as they sent everything, including all his of medicals to the USCIS and no longer have anything to give us! We are going to book an infopass appointment or just do a walk in. This is beyond frustrating! AND STUPID. I mean...DUH, THEY HAD TO HAVE HAD IT FOR HIM TO GET HIS K1 IN THE FIRST PLACE!!! GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR. We cannot afford another trip to a CS do get his medicals done again, due to THEIR lack of organization.

I thought I'd post here hoping anyone can advice me on Netherlands Police certificates, we got a RFE from the NVC saying that they needed the police certificate and I thought that for the netherlands we didn't have to initiate it and that was the NVC's job to request it through the consulate, husband is going to call the consulate tomarrow morning, I hope they can give us an answer as to what we are suppose to do? Anyways just wanted to know if any of you have had this problem regarding the police certificate, where did we go wrong?

Thanks =),

Yes, in the Netherlands you don't have to go after the police certificates yourself, that is all done for you.

Let us know what the consulate says.

the link above explains my situation better

they gave us a run around and NVC wants us to write a letter to initiate it, which is confusing because if I had known I needed to do this we would have done it ahead of time to save the trouble of this.

Did anyone else get this problem? if so tell us

I was wondering if the difference could be because of the filing status? A lot of the posters from the Netherlands seem to have K1 as their filing status as while our's is IR-1 so I'm wondering if that might have been why they asked us to request a police certificate? It's confusing either way, but the letter they requested us to send should be received today and hopefully that'll get the NVC to request it on our behalf, I hope. If any other Netherlands couples went through this please let us know about it, Thanks.
