Hmmm...we're actually saying ages, huh?? Haha....Peet, I bet I either have you beat or we're close in age!! I'm Liz (gulp...37) from Texas and my fiance Patrick (39) is from Den Haag. We've been together just over two years now and engaged for 1 1/2 years. He's made quite a few trips here to Texas to visit and we're hoping to have me there after he has his interview so that I can fly home with him! :luv:

I don't know about the police certificate either. You might try emailing the Consulate in Amsterdam...I've heard they are very friendly and willing to answer questions.

LOL, you are still a baby

No way!!! I thought we were the oldest one's here for sure!

Paul -:dance: Congrats to you and Kourtni!!! Not long now!!!!

Hugs, Liz

HEY EVERYBODY:

ITS FRIDAY!!!

:dance::dancing::dance:

What are your plans for the weekend? No make up day for Ike this weekend! Tonight cocktails on our rooftop with the neighbours, tomorrow we are going crabbing and make crab quesedillas with them and Sun visit a friend in Houston, and relaxxxxx!!!

This week i will hear about my job. Chances to be RIFed have been lowered as they need 3 secretaries to resign as apposed to 6. Bad feeling though.

TGIF!!!

No plans here really...my daughter is home this weekend and begging me to take her bowling. I'm still a bit leary of doing that because of my knee but we'll see. Otherwise, I think it'll be a nice relaxing weekend at home!

Marieke - I have my fingers crossed for you about your job!!!

JohnnyK__ Hello and welcome to our dutchie/american spot! I DO know the amsterdam consulate will take care of the police certificate so you wont have to contact anyone here for that. The one from the USA you would probably have to contact the local police station where you lived?? methinks the FBI wouldnt return your call for some time :P

Paul__ Congrats! And goodluck to you with your interview tho i'm sure everything will go smoothly!

Everyone's blogs look great! I'm jealous hehe

I do have a question though...I did post it in CR-1/IR-1 forum but it got buried :( so hopefully you guys can help....

My mother and stepfather are our joint sponsors, we were going over their forms tonight. My stepfather claims his two children as dependents still therefore gets earned income credit for them. Will we be able to include this money as 'income'?? Without it they may not meet our income requirements! help!

Can't say for sure, but if they aren't going to make it without then you have no choice. If there is no one else that you can also ask to be a co-sponsor, then I would do add it anyway and then see it it goes through. Kind of like, "if you don't try, you don't get". I hope it does work, but if you are really concerned, you should probably be asking the NVC themselves, as their advice is free. Don't bother with an immigration attorney, they screwed us out of 75 bucks for a ten minutes conversation at the start of all this, just because I was unsure of something.

Wow, John and Jeanine, that went pretty fast. :D

Great that you are keeping us up to date.

Makes it for us a bit easier knowing what to expect.

Hopefully we aren't too far behind you guys.

About the pictures, yep, they are mine.

Using a Nikon D80. LOL, please don't ask me technical details.I know how to hold the camera and that is about it.
