Could somebody tell me if I need to submit this form I-693 with our AOS application. Yes my wife came in with K1 but did not receive any DS-3025 at POE. I have called many Surgeons in the New York area and they are all more interested in what they will charge than listen to my story and USCIS instructions concerning K1. Somebody posted recently that she sent her AOS without the I-693 and did not receive any RFE. And I am about to do the same thing because paying another $300 for the same tests that were done in my country, do not make a whole lot of sense to me.

Please somebody tell me what to do.

For one ypou don't get the DS 3025 at POE. You get it from where you had overseas immigration medical. Yeah some get away with no I-693. SOME DON"T.

K1 denied, K3/K4, CR-1/CR-2, AOS, ROC, Adoption, US citizenship and dual citizenship

!! ALL PAU!

You can try to gamble on if you will get away with it or not. Most likely you will either get an RFE or they will ask for the I-693 during your interview. Either way I think it is better for you to submit it since it is one of the listed requirements.

Its all for LOVE..

Hi,

The correct answer is that you are SUPPOSED to turn in an I-693, with just the vaccine transcriptions, as long as the physical has been completed within the last year. (Note below in regards to the TST.)

Here are the instructions from the I-485, page 4 in regards to the medical.

http://www.uscis.gov/files/form/i-485instr.pdf

Do not let the doctor try to get you to do more than you need, a new medical is not needed if you've had your medical in the last year. It says so clearly in the instructions for the I-693. David and I paid $25 for the transcription. Call around to different Civil Surgeons or use Dr. Arnold on the first page of the I-693 info (see link below). (I've also read that she won't transcribe the TST though.)

Here's the link to the I-693...

http://www.uscis.gov/files/form/I-693instr.pdf

Please read the instructions in regards to what you are supposed to do. It also explains clearly that any K-1 visa holders do NOT have to redo the physical; that you only need to have your vaccine transcriptions transcribed. Go to the CS with copies of all the printed documents. The I-693 instructions and the print out of the website below.

What vaccines you need will depend on when you had your physical. See this link in regards to the new vaccine and TB requirements...

Your K1 medical date was before June 1, 2008. There are new rules and forms for medicals after June 1, including a mandatory tuberculin skin test as the post before this showed.

My wife, who came to the US on a K-1 visa, did not submit the I-693 with the AOS paperwork. She did not get a RFE and her case got transferred to the CSC for processing. So far, no problems.

I think I had read that because she got the vaccinations before departing the Philippines, submitting the I-163 was not as necessary.

We went into with the attitude that there was no need to spend the extra money if we did not need to. If we got an RFE, we would submit it then.

Just my two cents...

You didn't need to because her medical was in April. Rules changed for medicals after June 1 including the Tuberculin Skin Test requirement.
