Hi,

I need an important help from u people that i am having my adjustment of status interview in feb, 2009, and onething regarding the medical examination i want to know about and it is written in my interview letter as:

A completed medical examination (Form-I-693) and vaccination supplement in a sealed envelope (unless already submitted)

My question is i had my medical in febuary 2007 in Pakistan and when i entered on my K-1 visa in october 2008 i gave that sealed envelope to the immigration officer at the ny airport whereas i had the copy of my vaccination with me.

Now i am not sure that i had to do the medical examination again here in the states by the civil surgeon appointed by the uscis or my medical and vaccination is been already done. Now its been one year i am in states and what is written in the form-I-693

What if I am a K nonimmigrant visa holder and already had a medical exam overseas?

A. K-1 fiancé(e) or a K-2 child of a K-1 fiancé(e), or as a

B. K-3 spouse of a U.S. citizen or a K-4 child of a K-3 spouse of a U.S. citizen, and

C. You received a medical examination prior to admission, then-

a. You are not required to have another medical

examination as long as your Form I-485, Application to Register Permanent Residence or Adjust Status, is filed within one year of your overseas medical examination.

b. You will, however, be required to complete Part 1, Information about you, and submit the vaccination section of Part 2 with your adjustment of status application. A designated civil surgeon must complete the vaccination

section and Part 5, the Civil Surgeon's Certification.

It is kindly requested with your worthy opinion.

thanks

I'm confused.....we sent our vaccination report from the civil surgeon in a sealed envelope along with our AOS application. I don't think we need to bring another sealed envelope from the civil surgeon with the vaccination information if it was sent in our AOS application???

Read here for information about medicals and AOS If your medical is over one year old, you may need to get a new one. If it's less than a year since you had it, you don't need anything because it was turned in at your POE. I would suggest making an INFOPASS appointment at your local office before your AOS interview to find out if you are concerned, or just go ahead and have another medical done.

The original poster said the medical was Feb 2007

My question is i had my medical in febuary 2007 in Pakistan and when i entered on my K-1 visa in october 2008 i gave that sealed envelope to the immigration officer at the ny airport whereas i had the copy of my vaccination with me.

So at the interview in Feb 2009, the medical will be two years old. YES you have to have a new medical for AOS because your medical is not recent enough.
