Why? Oh, let's fly in the face of scientific evidence, in favour of bigoted, emotive opinion based on some outmoded view of what 'god' thinks about gays. Seriously, I don't give a flying fart what anyone thinks of gay people in the privacy of their own home, the dinasaurs will soon be dead, but to disrupt the normal lives of gay people because of these nonsensical opinions has gone on quite long enough.

This is not about the highlighted, it's about raising children. Get a clue, Cleo.

My eyebrows raised a bit at the "disrupt the normal lives of gay people" statement. Since when is having children a part of the normal life of a gay person?

... these bigots are dinasaurs and a dying breed (hurrah!)

Madame,

According to the CNN Exit Poll on Prop 8 in Kali, the only age group that did not support Prop 8 (i.e. defended gay marriage rights) was 18-29. Respondents aged 30 and above voted for Prop 8 (i.e. against gay marriage rights).

If you're waiting for all the 30 year olds to die out, you're in for a long wait.

and in another dozen years, those 18 year olds might feel like the 30+ year olds do now.

Unlikely.

Times change and so do people attitudes. But sometimes it has to take place by segments of society passing on.

remains to be seen. i was quite the liberal when i was 18. i think people become more conservative over time.

Were you liberal at 18 regarding homosexuality being 'right' or 'wrong'?

Wes and I talk about this 'aging out' thing all the time. It's been written that the Troubles in Northern Ireland will 'die out' when a few generations also do.

It's not unlike anything else in history. Things just come and go.

Um, maybe you need to re read my post. I said, I doing give a flying fart what the 'bigots' think about gays in the privacy of their own homes, these bigots are dinasaurs and a dying breed (hurrah!) but people like that have been given free rein to meddle in the affairs of the normal lives of gay people for far too long. Enough is enough, and science and logic backs up the notion that being a gay parent has absolutely no negative effect on children. Logic and reason will prevail, eventually.

bigots in the privacy of their own home, not gays. Brother, you have to hold the hands of some people.

I am not a bigot, and very much resent that assertion. We are all entitled to our opinions and beliefs in this country. You need to get on board with that.

Do I now? Interesting, I didn't realise the US had thought police. Sorry, but supporting a view that can't be supported by scientific evidence that denies a group of people rights is bigotted. Rightly, you don't like the label, but suck it up.

Oh, so now you misread my post. We are all entitled to our opinions and beliefs in this country. I am not required to share your one-sided opinion. get it?

 I am not denying you the right to be a bigot. Believe what you want, just stop using your beliefs to ruin other people's lives.

You are a joke....

Having children? This is not about procreation, but about adoption. The normal life of gay people is just the same as the normal life of any adult. Get a grip.

William33, that was a personal attack and in violation of TOS was it not? I am reporting you to you. Please suspend yourself for a few minutes to maintain the illusion of impartiality. Thanks.

Of course, however, in my 'jokingness' I still prefer to base my actions on the notion of equal rights and not intefering in the lives of others unless there is actual harm being caused. Being gay is simpy not 'harmful' and science backs my claim.

I think not. I will defer to my colleagues for sentencing, if merited. ;)

Further, my perspective has changed on why people lash out at others around here. I will put this into practice as a mod.

Aah, so moral outrage is now an approved excuse for engaging in personal attacks on the immoral?

Duly noted. The slow slouch to Gomorrah shall be resisted!
