I hate that my sister knows my monthly "salary" because she gets less and then tries to get money from me whe she runs out

You can't do anything in our family but that our Mother won't ask us how much it costs; how much we're getting paid; if we paid cash or borrowed money; etc.

She and Dad always talked about money in front of us when we were children and I'm grateful for that. I think it taught us how to handle our money as adults. But it's sort of annoying to have her asking us about stuff all the time now. It seems more like nosiness than concern.

lol my dad has to ask me how much things cost and he'll nod and get back to me days later with a story about someone else who got it cheaper and how i always get ripped off :innocent:

there's the real price and the price you tell your husband it was...and then there's the "husband know not" payment plan...little cash, little bank card, little credit card, maybe a check :P

Not knocking the practice (because I know lots of women who do the same) but personally that's not my thing. I lived with a man who lied about money all the time, so maybe that's why I don't think it's such a hot idea.

We always discuss how much something costs and whether or not we should get it. It just seems unnecessary to fib about it.

I just like to save him the shock...I have more money than he does and he almost has a heart attack when he finds out the real price of things. I think he enjoys not knowing the truth. Better for his young heart.

Well, everybody's situation is different.

I'm sure your situation is far different than mine was. My ex was spending and borrowing what we didn't have.

salray.com is a good place to start but if you have a more specialized or hybrid job its not as cut and dry. Also, pretty much knowing "what you're worth". I would think everyone can safely say they know when they are being underpaid.

I want everyone to earn the same too, if they have the same skills and experience. Alot of it comes down to negotiating. Most companies will have a scale to work with, and dont vary much from it.

Okay I have another question.

Regardless of career, what would you guys think is a decent salary? and at what salary would you say wow that is a good salary?

Thats too open of a question :) Of course geographics play a large role also.

Example:

I moved from so cal to louisville kentucky. My brother (still in orange county) makes almost twice what i do and i have more to show for it here.

"you fondle my trigger then you blame my gun"

Timeline: 13 month long journey from filing to visa in hand

If you were lucky and got an approval and reunion with your loved one rather quickly; Please refrain from telling people who waited 6+ months just to get out of a service center to "chill out" or to "stop whining" It's insensitive, and unecessary. Once you walk a mile in their shoes you will understand and be heard.

Thanks!
