I don't really drink and when I do drink you'll hear about it because it's usually hilarious

I only drink tea when I'm sick, it's too late or don't have time to drink/make coffee

Here's what I wanna know. Why do brits equate indian food with curry?

i think it has something to do with this...

In British cuisine, the word curry was primarily used to denote a sauce-based dish flavoured with curry powder or a paste made from the powder and oils. However, the resurgence of interest in food preparation in the UK in recent years has led to much more use of fresh spices such as ginger and garlic, and preparation of an initial masala from freshly ground dried spices, though pastes and powders are still frequently used for convenience.

(chinese) yellow curry is probably the only other popular "curry". it isn't that popular though.

It appears that to some, that those who don't talk about their money are perceived to be superior to those who do.

I find financial conversations work best with trusted friends, family members and professionals. Not with message board members who people happen to already dislike.

Disliking people on a message board who you have never met is a major indicator of stupidity.

so going with that, is liking someone on a message board that you never met a major indicator of stupidity too??

Lord, I hope not. That's how I met my husband, 2 of my now RL best friends, and I also really like quite a few VJers, including some of the lovely ones I met in Seattle.

Oh #######. I'm stupid?!

I work hard, struggled through college and then 2 years extra ( mathematics), I reap what I work for, and funnily enough I like what I am paid to do-and I like the $$$ that goes with it and I don't do it at the expense of more important stuff.

I still like money.

What do you do?

Hey GG-How ya doing?

I am a meteorologist.

It has NOT been easy for me. I am US by birth, but grew up in the UK. When I left school there, I worked for the Post Office ( from being 16 to 21). Then I decided "hey, I am American; nothing to lose", so I moved to the USA with NOTHING but a suitcase and I spent my last $ in Chicago airport on a cup of coffee.

My Dad although I know he loves me is not a believer in "hand outs" and my first job here was a melon ball [i didn't know ####### a melonball was] maker in a supermarket for $4.50 an hour to pay for a car ( it was a POS).

Figuring there must be better oppertunities- I started college classes, one at a time.

I joined the USAF. I was retired from the USAF, and used the GI Bill and all resources to improve my quals, despite terrible injuries that I chose not to discuss as that is not relevant to this.

Look, I STILL believe that the USA is one of the only countries that with the right motivation and entrepreneur attitude and need to improve, YOU CAN! I do believe that.

I think that the "hunger " or "need" or "greed" or just pure will power to improve situation can be used here in America. Am I in clown cuckoo land thinking this?-sometimes I wonder as we seem to have developed an apathetic attitude here in America-where is the drive?, but I look at myself and think "Yes YOU can too". And I am not an Obama supporter!

There is much much more to my story, but that's the meat and potatos basically. I hauled up from NOTHING, overcame extreme personal odds, owning nothing but a toothbrush and a lousey cup of coffee in Chicago. Honestly. :)

Take a large, almost round, rotating sphere about 8000 miles in diameter, surround it with a murky, viscous atmosphere of gases mixed with water vapor, tilt its axis so it wobbles back and forth with respect to a source of heat and light, freeze it at both ends and roast it in the middle, cover most of its surface with liquid that constantly feeds vapor into the atmosphere as the sphere tosses billions of gallons up and down to the rhythmic pulling of a captive satellite and the sun. Then try to predict the conditions of that atmosphere over a small area within a 5 mile radius for a period of one to five days in advance!
