We are so depressed right now after a good news of having approved on our petition my husband was laid off from his job just this week :( . we are going to use his brother as my co sponsor would it be ok while my is husband is currently looking for a job and we are not sure when he would be hire. We are also afraid of doing an appointment for my interview as we worried of his unemployment status would affect our k3 visa.???

Any advice pls :crying:

Using a co-sponsor may be the only solution for you now. Also, including any assets that you have will also help. It is clear that the NVC is very particular regarding this matter as they do not want immigrants to become public charges.

Perhaps, you may want to post this again in the K3 so that you may have more answers to your questions. Obviously the recession affects all of us and people from other nationalities may definitely give you more sound advice.

My prayers to both you and your husband regarding your visa journey.

hopefully the interview will take place before the deadline of filing the new ITR... that way he could still use the old ITR which i believe above poverty line right?... plus w/ his brother's help/co-sponsor, then its gona be fine. im no expert but im positive it wont be a major factor during the interview for as long everything is well prepared... God bless and good luck!!!

Hey you do you have the date for your interview? when? I have read one of the post here on VJ..about the petitioner losing the job before the day of the beneficiary's interview What she did was she did not say about the petitioner not having a job. She got approved. I believe you can do that too if your husband lose his job just a month or a week before the interview. BUT I MIGHT BE WRONG.....Pls correct me if I am wrong. Thank you But what i am sharing now is based on what I read on the other post. Good Luck.

If you have the letter now from the USEM make an appointment for your interview ASAP before the end of the year. Beacuse you will only show the 2007 not the 2008. So you can still do that it is only an advice trying to help you...
