Receipt dates discrepancy

Has anyone experienced this discrepancy between the Receipt Date on I797 letter and Receipt Date shown online?

I filed I751 in late Jan'08 and received NOA1 in Feb'08 stating that Jan 29'08 was the Receipt Date.

But I got the biometrics letter in May'08 with appt set for 06/19/08.

Then, I went online and called USCIS automated system, and it shows that their Receipt date is MAY 14 '08!!!! that's almost 4 months difference!!

If anyone experienced this or have any idea of such a discrepancy in the past, do you think my case will be reviewed according the receipt date on the I797 (jan29) or receipt date they have online (may14)?

I'm sure that if I call USCIS they won't have the clue about this, and I'm sure I'll get different answers from different representatives if I call different times.

Any input from you guys in this forum would be much appreciated.

The only thing I can think of is that you filed at Texas and the file sat there for a few months before it was transferred to Vermont, then Vermont gave it a new receipt date. I expect you will be reviewed based on the NOA receipt date that you have, not the online one.

thanks Kathryn for your response, but the I797 receipt notice was sent from VSC already. The case was transfered immediately from TSC. Case was received at TSC on Jan 29 and at VSC on Feb 6, which is the date of that I797 NOA, again, sent from VSC. (that same NOA stating Receipt Date of Jan 29)

the thing is that they took their time to send me the biometrics appt (I had to call them 4 times).

Thanks again for your response, that's very nice of you.
