My wife came here on a K1 visa and did not get any shots while in China. We didn't want to delay several months to file the AOS, so we filed it without the shots, expecting an RFE or request to bring the I-693 to the interview. We are now trying to take care of this part, before the RFE comes.

Unfortunately, we can not find her immunization and shot records. From talking to the civil surgeons office, we still only need MMR, TD and HPV. Are these the only medically appropriate immunizations for a 24 year old female with no other shot records? We want to be very certain these are the only required vaccinations because we will get them from our family doctor and have the civil surgeon fill the vaccination part of the I-693 later. If we miss one, that makes it rather expensive and troublesome.

Please advise if the 3 shots above are all we need or not.

Thanks,

Brian

FWIW, it really does not matter what anybody else believes as the CS is the final voice....

YMMV

We're going through the same thing right now.... Cant find his shot record.

Anyways, i have looked all over and yes what you listed are the only vacc a 24 yr old woman needs - now she does have to have a TB test done, but i guess you wouldnt consider that a vacc

The civil surgeon should be your one-stop shop for all the shots that your wife may need, and the form should be filled out by the CS. The certified civil surgeon should know exactly which are needed... the signed and sealed form will be directly from the surgeon.

Here's a current chart for immigrants http://www.usembassy.org.uk/cons_new/visa/...ccinechart.html

Also there is the Tuberculin Skin Test, which is new and not all CS seem to be up to date on the info, so I'd say the USCIS (or the Center for Disease Control) is the final word, not the CS.

My wife received her shots in the medical exam during the K1 process in May 07, we took her shot records and information to the civil surgeon and they told us she still needed more shots and the TB skin test. We did what the Doctor told us and she ended up with the TB test showing positive so they needed another chest x-ray, stating the ones we did in Bangkok in May was not valid, but we did what the Doctor said and the gave us a sealed envelope after all was done in about 1 month. It was very frustrating, but we did what the civil surgeon told us, since they have the power to give the medical evaluations.

Its all for LOVE..

Thanks for the fast replies. I'll just do what the CS said they require which is MMR, HPV and TD. One CS also said they require a flu vaccine if it is that time of year, but we got one already and luckily kept the receipt.

I know that my wife had a TB test and chest X-ray while she was at the medical exam in China, so that's no problem.

I would go directly to the CS, but we can save a lot of money by going through our family doctor. My insurance will cover these type of preventative measures, while the CS would gladly stack up a nice bill. That's why I wanted to figure out exactly what we need done before going to the CS.

Thanks again everyone!

if you want, get the known ones at the GP and have it covered by insurance... then go to the CS and have only the form transcribed and the unknown ones that might be needed

I had most innoculations done at school and high school, i have no idea how to go about getting a list of what shots ive had or not had, or how to prove what i had done at school? I am finalising my I-129F package now, does this need to be submitted with it and if so how do i get proof of what innoculations i had done at school down here in Australia?

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated

Cheers Breezie
